To reach the Pigeonnier car park, take the central exit for Flassans onto the DN7, then go through a tunnel that passes under the DN7.
(S/E) Walk up Impasse du Pigeonnier and turn left at Fourche des Grands Prés at marker 25. Continue along the path to marker 48.
(1) Turn right onto the yellow-marked path and follow it to the next marker.
(2) Take the track that branches off slightly to the left and is barely visible. When you reach the electricity pylon, follow it on the left along a track that descends to a junction. Turn right. You will reach marker 22.
(3) Do not take the route signposted ‘Château de Pontevès’ to the right, but head down to the left to the junction marked by marker 50. Turn right here towards Le Défens and Cabasse.
(4) At marker 41, turn right and continue for about 200 m to reach the junction at marker 40.
(5) Take the track marked with a yellow arrow for Château de Pontevès on the right. The path leads to a residential area. Pass the first gate and walk due south to a second gate.
(6) Go through the gate and continue along a path marked in yellow to the castle ruins. At the end of the visit, exit through the north gate, walk past a water tower and head down to the Notre-Dame de Consolation Chapel. At the chapel, leave the concrete track and turn right onto a dirt track heading at 160°. Continue to a junction, then take the path on the left which descends after passing a wooden gate. On reaching the village, turn right onto the street which leads down to the Pigeonnier car park (S/E).
