Description of the walk

The route starts from the car park near the old medieval bridge in Vins.

(S/E) Cross the main road (D24) and head up towards the village. After a few dozen metres, cross over to the right via a footbridge, follow the path along the Ruisseau des Adrets (Adrechs on IGN maps) and turn left at Château Neuf. Cross the bridge and follow the stream to the junction of Rue des Magnans and Chemin des Adrets.

(1) Follow the concrete path for a few metres and take the path branching off to the right (marked in purple). Continue along this path, which ends at the junction with the track leading up to the castle ruins.

(2) Take this track to the left for about 50 m. At the T-junction marked by a cairn, turn right and continue to a junction with a track near a cistern.

(3) Turn left at the cistern and continue on theGR®51(red and white markings). It heads westwards and then joins the Vallon des Adrechs. After a wide left-hand bend, you’ll reach a crossroads near a signpost marked “Ubac de Viéra”.

(4) Leave theGR®51and take the path that runs alongside the Adrets stream to the village of Vins. Turn right into Rue des Rosiers and continue to the Town Hall opposite the church.

(5) Turn left and follow the road down to the car park (S/E).

The start of the route via the stairs isn't clearly marked. A lovely walk with a good climb. Well worth doing. 👍

A pretty little village; a pleasant start to the walk.
I should point out that without the map, as the description lacks detail, it’s impossible to find your way.

It starts off quite well, but the whole section from the GR onwards is actually a wide forest firebreak that’s been ruthlessly cleared of undergrowth – it’s a complete mess all around; you even wonder what on earth the foresters were trying to achieve other than wreaking havoc!...
As a result, the circular loop loses all its appeal.

A lovely Sunday walk. The start in the village of Vins, with its little bridges and the river, is really lovely. We climbed up to the castle; there were no signs prohibiting it, but you do need to be careful.
The second part of the walk, along a well-cleared DFCI-style track, is less interesting. No particular difficulties.

A lovely, picturesque Provençal village with a magnificent Roman bridge. A beautiful walk around the old castle and the Resistance cave. I highly recommend this lovely, easy and enjoyable walk.
