Starting from Faverges, a varied, easy circular route offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains (Bornes, Aravis, Dent de Cons, La Sambuy...).
Roc de Viuz
At the southernmost tip of the Tournette massif, a balcony crossing leads to the impressive Roc de Viuz promontory. This large, steep slope, clearly visible from the road, is well worth a visit.
Circular on the heights of Giez
This route is mainly through forest with regular beautiful views of the surrounding area, both towards Les Bauges and Les Aravis. A hike that has the great advantage of being easily accessible even after several days of heavy rain.
Le Crêt des Mouches from Le Fontany
A classic hike, on a path that is mostly quite steep but generally well-marked.
La Pointe de la Sambuy circular starting from Seythenex
Hike offering a superb 360° view at Pointe de la Sambuy over Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc.
The Col du Fer from Marlens
If you enjoy elevation changes, steep slopes, forests, the sound of flowing water and the somewhat wild side of nature, then this hike is for you. Located in the southernmost part of the Aravis mountain range, this route no longer poses any orientation problems, as it has recently been marked out. There are no particular technical difficulties, but some sections along the cliffs will require your full attention.
Roc de Nantbellet
A family hike whose route offers a first section in the forest, then panoramic views of the surrounding peaks such as Arclosan, Charvin, Hautes Bauges, Mont Blanc, and the Tamié valley.

A short and beautiful walk to discover the beautifully restored Fort de la Batterie. Suitable in all seasons.
Dent de Cons circular
Ascent of the Dent de Cons, the easternmost peak of the Bauges, offering beautiful views of the Bauges, the Bornes, the Beaufortain, Mont Blanc... The route describes a circular loop starting from Marthod, which runs partly on very steep grassy slopes and on a sometimes exposed ridge.
Pointe du Banc Plat
A beautiful hike with a magnificent view of Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc from the summit.
GPS data currently being reviewed and integrated: the elevation gain is 1,150 metres.
From the Baraque de l'Abbaye to the Chalet de l'Alpettaz
This hike takes you to the heart of the Faverges-Seythenex valley, following the Lac d'Annecy with the Torrent de Saint-Ruph, which is the lake's main source of water, ending with a view of Albertville and Mont Blanc at the Col de l'Alpettaz (alt. 1,580 m).
Col de la Forclaz via the end of the lake
A hike through the woods that takes you from the end of the lake to the Col de la Forclaz.
The Seven Fountains Loop in Montmin
This loop trail runs through the suspended valley of Montmin and takes you to the monument of the Seven Fountains (1642), a Christian building with a very unusual design.
La Tournette via Montmin
A beautiful hike starting from the small village of Montmin that will delight you if you are a good walker.
There are no particular difficulties on this route, part of which follows the ridge.
Once you reach the summit (chairlift), you will discover (in good weather) Mont Blanc, Lake Annecy, the Aravis mountain range, Les Bauges...
Bout du Lac d'Annecy Nature Reserve
Created in 1974 to protect the last reed beds on Lake Annecy, it is home to remarkable flora and fauna. An educational trail takes you around the site in about an hour, through unspoilt natural areas with beautiful views of the nearby peaks of Les Bornes and Les Bauges. You will find magnificent views of the lake, observatories and educational panels.
La Tournette loop from the village of Montmin
This is a beautiful hike offering stunning views of Lake Annecy, the Aravis massif and Mont Blanc. I recommend doing this hike in late October or early November, as the route is very busy in July, August and September.

Montmin loop to the Chalet de l'Aulp via the Rocher Roux
Torrential streams, forest, minerals and panoramic views! Add to that a little elevation gain, and you have everything this hike has to offer, most of which is sheltered from the sun.
Combe refuge - Le Reposoir
Second day of the hike: Around Charbon Mountain with a stop at Dent des Portes.
The Parc du Mouton
A lovely circular route to reach a summit with 360° panoramic views. A climb through the forest to reach the refuge, then a short ridge. A cool descent along the torrent will take you back to the abbey, which you can visit or buy some of the famous cheese!
Tour of the Val de Tamié
The Val de Tamié site is remarkable for its Cistercian abbey nestled on the side of Tête Noire and its former military fort. The hike takes place in the valley. It starts from the abbey car park, with a steep climb, a walk downhill through the woods, a visit to the Fort de Tamié, a magnificent view of Mont Blanc at the Collet de Tamié, then the descent to the Moulin de Tamié.
The summit of Sulens from Serraval
This route will take you from Serraval to the summit of Sulens on the ridge of Montagne de Sulens. This mountain, located between the Aravis and Bornes ranges, offers extraordinary views of both, as well as much of the Bauges Massif. Two orientation tables at the summit provide hikers with information on the names of the many peaks visible in the surrounding area. Half of this hike takes place in the forest.
Belle Étoile circular, return via Chalet Périllet
From the summit of Belle Étoile, you will be treated to breathtaking views. Following a path that runs almost entirely through the woods, you will reach the Croix de Périllet and then, after a steep section, the Croix du Sommet de Belle Étoile. On one side, you will overlook Mercury and the Olympic city of Albertville (1992 Winter Olympics) and on the other, the Tamié valley and its Cistercian-Trappist monastery. In the distance, you can see Lake Annecy, Mont Blanc and Mont Granier.
Route de la Belle Étoile and La Négresse / Roc Rouge
A very lovely hike on the border between Savoie and Haute-Savoie, on the iconic peaks of Albertville: the beautiful Étoile and the Négresse.
In the background, the Bauges massif, the Beaufortain, the Lauzière, Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy.
A hike best undertaken in dry weather, featuring exposed sections equipped with ladders and handrails.

Between Roc des Boeufs and Montagne du Charbon
This circular route allows you to admire not only the Roc des Boeufs and the Montagne du Charbon, but also much of the Bauges massif, Lake Annecy, the Bornes massif, the Aravis range, etc. Don't hesitate to turn around regularly to fully enjoy all these landscapes.
Les Balcons de Lathuile

The Taillefer ridge starting from the Lo Velâjo campsite
The walk starts from the Lo Velâjo campsite, but it is also possible to get there by bus or car, with parking available nearby. A very pleasant route that can keep you occupied for half a day or a full day (there are several places to picnic) with lovely views of Lake Annecy. Most of the route is through woodland, so you’ll be sheltered from the sun in hot weather.
Above Lathuile
An interesting and relatively easy circular walk, with unusual passages and beautiful panoramic views over Lake Annecy.
Fort de Tamié circular loop
A very short family hike and a visit to Fort de Tamié. Within the fort's grounds, there are tree-top adventure courses, games for children and walks for all, not to mention superb views of Albertville. Rather than taking the car to the fort, it is very pleasant to walk there.
Notre-Dame de Tamié Abbey
This circular starts in Mercury and climbs up to the small pass of Tamié, then continues to Notre-Dame de Tamié Abbey. It continues via the small pass of Tamié before descending towards Plancherine and returning to Mercury .

Hike offering superb views of the Massif des Bornes, Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc.
Route of the Gallo-Roman villa at Gilly-sur-Isère
A hike that will allow you to discover the Savoyard countryside and step back a few centuries with the Gallo-Roman ruins in the village of Gilly. The church and the castle are well worth a visit.
From Les Prés-Ronds to the Chalet de l’Aulp
A short walk suitable for families. It will take you to the Col de l’Aulp and the chalet-restaurant of the same name. A wonderful breath of fresh mountain air.

Le Grand Roc
Magnificent ridge walk between Mont d'Orisan and Grand Roc. On one side are Les Bauges and its highest peak, Arcalod (2,217 m), and on the other is the Mont Blanc massif, passing through Beaufortain, Vanoise, La Lauzière, Belledonne and on to the Aiguilles d'Arves. A very beautiful hike.
Taillefer ridge (Crete du Taillefer) from Camping La ravoire and Camping Les fontaines
The famous Taillefer ridge hike is a great hike to do directly from camping la ravoiure and les fontaines. Mostly woodland hiking (therefore nicely shaded in many parts, with superb views of the lake and mountains. Steep ascent to the L'oratoire but no particular technical difficulties. Some passages can be slippery in wet weather. Walking poles are good to bring! This hike is approx 3-5 hours long.
Route de la voie romaine via Thénésol
A beautiful and varied route alternating between woodland and roads, exploring an ancient Roman road.
Lac du Mont Charvin
An out and return walk to Lac du Mont Charvin. Passing through woodland, then pasture before entering the higher and more rocky terrain. Great views Mont Blanc from the ridge above the lake.
The Mont Charvin circular
A somewhat aerial hike offering spectacular views. The passage by the lake provides an opportunity for a pleasant break.
As the route includes a section of via ferrata, cables are in place during the summer season on the most difficult parts. However, it is not recommended to attempt this route in wet weather, as some sections can be slippery and falls are not permitted.
The final section of this hike is reserved for experienced hikers.

Lac du Mont Charvin via Col des Porthets
A moderately difficult hike through the steep, rocky mountain pastures of Mont Charvin. From the Fontanettes car park in the commune of Le Bouchet, the climb takes you past the Chalet des Fontanettes and the Chalet de l'Aulp de Marlens, then through the valley to the Col des Porthets. From there, descend to join the path coming from Manigod and climb back up to the lake. The return journey follows the same route.
Col du Fer
Walk to the Col du Fer near Mont Charvin and its lake.There is little elevation gain, so it is suitable for everyone, and if there is no fog, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama.
Le Lanfonnet and Roche Murraz
Less travelled than its prestigious neighbour (La Tournette), the summit of Lanfonnet offers a pleasant and less demanding alternative, with a smaller elevation gain. The view of Lake Annecy is spectacular.
The Angon waterfall circuit
A lovely, varied walk with undergrowth, meadows and small villages, with the added bonus of the Angon waterfall and superb views of the lake, La Tournette and the Dents de Lanfon.
From Albertville station to the Refuge du Soplat des Streams
A lovely climb starting from Albertville, passing through the medieval town of Conflans and pretty mountain hamlets with views of the Tarentaise Valley, before reaching the Refuge du Soplat des Stream. The refuge is ideally located near the Tour du Beaufortain with a beautiful view of Albertville and the Olympic Park. Hike to be done from May to November: avalanche risk in winter above 1,100 metres.
The Keys to the Tournette Tour
I suggest a good hike, partly circular, starting from Les Clefs and heading to La Tournette through areas that are not too busy.There are no major technical difficulties along the route: at most, there are a few slippery sections in places and access to the summit of La Tournette via a few ladders and cables

A beautiful circular route above the medieval town of Conflans with lovely panoramic views of the Combe de Savoie.
La Montagne du Sulens

A circular route around the Taillefer and Entrevernes ridges starting from Duingt
This double ridge walk across two folds of the Bauges range, which plunge into Lake Annecy, offers both the appeal of a varied ridge walk and exceptional views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. La Tournette, in particular, is visible all day long.
Sulens Mountain
This is a snowshoe hike that climbs almost continuously on the way up. The route is also popular with ski tourers.

There are no specific markings for snowshoeing.

The Montagne d'Entrevernes circular route
The two ridges around Entrevernes on the northern Bauges massif.
Sulens Mountain via the Sentier du Facteur
This is an unusual route to the summit of Sulens, which takes you up the steep grassy face of the east slope.
This trail is not "yet" marked on IGN maps... but is clearly visible on IGN Satellite.
A good reason to use it before it becomes too well-travelled...

Tour of Sulens Mountain
An easy hike on a wide track offering beautiful views of the Manigod valley and then the Bouchet valley. It allows you to walk around the Montagne de Sulens without much difficulty and offers breathtaking landscapes in autumn when the trees are ablaze with colour.
Farette - Bettex - Fort du Mont - Le Chataîgner - Farette
If you love the mountains and beautiful places, and you're not afraid of a little effort, then set off on this walk to discover Fort du Mont and admire the views on the way up and the large pine forests on the way down.
Talloires - Chalets de l'Aulp via the Angon Waterfall and the Pont des Fées
A lovely walk to a magnificent high-altitude mountain pasture with spectacular views of the Tournette rocks and Lake Annecy. The first part (Angon Waterfall, Pont des Fées, Rovagny) is suitable for families (direct return possible). Then, a steady, shaded path leads to the vast cirque of the Aulp chalets and its unique view of Lake Annecy and the Tournette rocks.
La Croix d'Allant from Précherel
A short, easy hike to discover the Allant mountain pasture.
Variation of the Col du Chérel on snowshoes
This easy walk has already been described by Bernardino, so the following is only a variation.
There are no specific markings for snowshoes; the summer markings are sufficient.
The Col de Chérel
Discover a pass in Les Bauges whose distinctive feature is that it separates the Arcalod range from the Trélod range, two of the main peaks in Les Bauges.
This route is identical for a walking hike.
Circular walk on the hills above Grignon via La Baraque Noire.
This walk takes place, for the most part, in the forest, on paths and trails, and presents no particular difficulty, either technical or in terms of navigation. It offers beautiful panoramic views of the Isère valley, the Bauges, the Beaufortain, etc.

A magnificent hike to the summit of the Montagne de Sulens. The scenery is varied, passing through mountain pastures and woodland. Exceptional views of Mont Charvin, then on the other side of the Tournette des Aravis massif. Please note: the ascent of Montagne de Sulens via the Col de la Botte and the descent via the Chemin du Facteur mean this route is only suitable for experienced hikers.
