Park near the church in Giez, where there are three car parks offering a few parking spaces.
(S/E) Pass between the church and the Château de Gy and follow the signs for "Sous le Pesset": this takes you along part of the route known as "La boucle du facteur" (the postman's circular). Pass the tennis court, then continue straight ahead around the bend. Cross the Nant Contiat and continue to the junction marked "Sous le Pesset".
(1) Turn left, following the sign for "Grange de Travers". Reach this place and continue for about a hundred metres to arrive at a small, unnamed pass.
(2) Leave the marked trail and take a path on the left heading south. After about 20 metres of steep slope, stay on the left path almost to the high-voltage pylon and turn right before it. Continue for about 150 metres and take the left path which leads to a track at an altitude of 932 metres, where there is a small chalet.
(3) Continue along this track on the left, climbing for about 1.5 km to reach the marked GRP® route of the Massif des Bauges.
(4) Turn left and follow the yellow and red markings to the sign for "Les Replens Dessus", the highest point of the route at 1,310 metres.
(5) Leave the marked route and take a track on the left, following the direction of "Les Replens" indicated by an old wooden sign. Pass through Les Replens Dessus, then Les Replens Dessous, with some steep sections. Descend to the junction with the access road to Les Chalets des Bovets.
(6) Turn left and continue along this road until you reach the Route de Giez at a place called Bourgeal.
(7) Turn left onto this road, which has a footpath, and continue to the car park near the church (S/E).
