Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames walks

A hike through the vast open areas of the Briarde countryside with large rolling hills and views as far as the eye can see, followed by shaded areas in the valley and on the Grand Morin hillsides. Pieces of the architectural heritage along the way, churches, mills and wash-houses, make the trip that more worthwhile. The hike can be shortened to a 15 km walk, or split into two, one 8 km and the other 12 km (see useful information).

Between Villiers and Crécy, you walk along the hillsides through fields, meadows and small woods. Crécy-la-Chapelle offers views of its canal, beautiful old houses, the Church of Saint-Georges and the Moulin Saint-Martin, as well as a very pleasant walk along the Grand Morin.

A hike mostly along rivers with a connection by the slopes of the Grand Morin and Marne valleys offering beautiful views of the region. Crossing through some of the villages, including Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames and Quincy-Voisins, lets you explore some interesting elements of their architectural heritage.

A walk along the water, first along a canal and then along the Marne. The only elevation gain is at Côte Saint-Jacques, which the canal crosses via a tunnel. The outdoor sculptures near the Dhuys footbridge add a touch of heritage.

For centuries, the landscape of Villeneuve-le-Comte has been shaped by agriculture in a forest environment. Within a 2 km radius of the village centre, hiking trails allow you to discover the diversity and richness of these landscapes, which have been preserved to this day. This route is obviously intended for residents of the municipality, who can complete the circuit in 3 hours, but there are also alternative routes that shorten the journey.

A pleasant loop, mostly on dirt tracks, signposted from Dampmart, which takes you through the village of Carnetin and then along the Marne. On the banks of the Marne, you can observe local wildlife (squirrels, muskrats, moorhens, etc.). Discover the Vallières forest (beech trees) and the Dhuis aqueduct built under Napoleon. Beautiful views of the Marne valley.

After a long walk along the banks of the Marne, this walk takes you up the hillsides on the right bank to enjoy beautiful views of the valley to the east and the Butte de Montgé to the north.

Designed and developed by the municipality of Chauconin-Neufmontiers, this route pays tribute to the Moroccan soldiers who fought on the very spot where they were engaged in the early days of the Battle of Ourcq, from 5 September 1914, on the western front of the Battle of the Marne. A short memorial hike, mostly in woodland with extensive views over the cultivated plain dotted with a few witness mounds.

Hiking along a bend of the river Marne. The circuit follows along streams in its first part, then crosses part of the Montceaux forest. There are beautiful panoramic vistas at every break in the tree cover.

The suggested loop alternates between passages near the Grand Morin through the countryside, woods and Briard hamlets with their carved stone houses. The entire route is accessible by train. For enthusiasts, there are many horses, particularly at the horse farm.

A hike from station to station that starts at the edge of the forest. You then cross a cultivated plateau before descending into the Grand Morin valley. The route ends between the river and canals.

A hike dominated by water, with a long stretch along the Marne towpath and crossing two wetlands on boardwalks. After a nice touch of industrial heritage at the former Menier chocolate factory, you cross Noisiel Park on wide paths in search of some remarkable trees.

A circular walk from Lagny-Thorigny station, with a beautiful variety of landscapes. Beautiful view of the Marne valley from the cute little village of Carnetin. Chalifert tunnel and lock. And the exceptional Dhuys sculpture garden, which alone is worth the trip.

A short circuit to discover beautiful panoramic views of the Jablines outdoor recreation centre, the banks of the Marne and the Dhuis promenade in Dampmart.

A country walk in the Grand Morin valley, with the mills of Coude and Prémol. Note: actual elevation gain: approximately double the calculation, i.e. 260 m. Avoid in wet weather. Caution! The route has been modified at the Moulin de Prémol due to the removal of the footbridge over the railway line.

A short hike from station to station that starts along the Grand Morin and then climbs the hillsides on its right bank. The river reappears at La Celle-sur-Morin with its old mills and charming church. The hike ends on the left bank, mainly between fields.

At the confluence of two Briard rivers, this is a bucolic hike that alternates between woodland and fields with short passages through small villages.

A hike from station to station between the Grand Morin valley and its hillsides, with a varied route through woods, fields, meadows and old orchards. It is also an opportunity to admire two of the old mills that were once scattered along the river.

Three small villages are marked on the map at each point of a right-angled triangle. This is an easy walk with no particular difficulties. There are no climbs, so no effort is required, and the flat countryside is full of charming little spots to discover.

The forests of Ferrières and Armainvilliers are contiguous over a very long stretch from east to west. They form the largest wooded area in eastern Paris. It is a single humid forest with very little relief, dotted with ponds. It is renowned for mushroom picking. This hike allows you to discover the tree species that make up the forest: oak (sessile and pedunculate), ash, lime, maple, cherry, service, etc.

At the confluence of the Marne, Ourcq and Thérouanne rivers, the ponds and reed beds of the Grand Voyeux regional estate are home to a huge number of birds. The walk begins on the observation path of this protected natural site. It then hops along the River Thérouanne, along the Canal de L'Ourcq and the Canal de la Thérouanne, and ends along the Marne. Water and birds are the main attractions on this route!

A two-part hike from station to station. First, you cross the Armainvilliers National Forest, on wide paths and then on a trail that winds through the undergrowth. The rest of the route takes you through fields, through the village of Favières and finally to the heritage sites of Tournan-en-Brie.

Hike in the Forest of Malvoisine, starting from the Church of Saint-Pierre in Mauperthuis, passing by the Chapel of Sainte-Aubierge, with its spring and wash house.
