Chamberet walks

A very pleasant loop in the Monédières, with many sections in the forest, leading to the charming and unusual Saint-Dulcet Chapel. A very easy circuit with little elevation gain, making it accessible to all fitness levels.

A long walk to discover the hydroelectric schemes on the Vienne that led to the creation of the Servières and Chammet lakes. Tarnac, our starting point, is a beautiful village on the Plateau de Millevaches with a church, a fountain and a remarkable oak tree.

A very beautiful hike that takes you back to the source of the Vienne near the village of Servières and across the Chandouille on wooden bridges and granite stone bridges.

Actual time: 2½ hours This hike will take you to the heart of the Massif des Monédières and the Plateau des Millevaches, where numerous streams flow. The rural heritage is also rich in stones, crosses, menhirs and plank bridges. In winter, you can do this circuit on cross-country skis.

This walk takes you up the Corrèze, which is still just a stream that you cross several times, to its source. The route also takes in a rich heritage of buildings in the villages of Chadebec and Bonnefond and in the hamlets: crosses, fountains, wells, as well as a menhir, a mill and a remarkable lime tree.

A magnificent walk overlooking the Vézère river, following the route of the old "Paris Orléans Corrèze" railway line on the way there, returning on the other bank along the Vézère and crossing the old town of Uzerche.

This route from Lagraulière features long stretches through the Blanchefort Forest and crosses the Brézou stream several times.

This two-stage route of 2 x 18 km will take you on a journey of discovery around one of the largest artificial lakes in France. You can expect to see mid-mountain landscapes, varied vegetation including fir forests, moors and peat bogs, and wild flora and fauna on this tour of Lake Vassivière, commonly known as "Little Canada". The highlight of the route: a stopover at the Pourvoirie du Lac stopover lodge (accommodation, breakfast and dinner with a panoramic view of the lake).

This first stage takes you through unspoilt countryside, with a route that is both wild and surprising.

Chassagnas, of Latin origin, Cassania or Gallic Cassanus, means oak. Chassagnas consists of a wooded slope down to the edge of Lake Vassivière and a partially open summit offering a 180° view of the lake. The Chassagnas peninsula, jutting out into the heart of Lake Vassivière, forms the boundary between the Creuse and Haute-Vienne departments. Together with its twin, the Puy du Rocher, which dominates Vauveix, it forms a barrier between the lake's two main bays.

Feedback from 19/12/2024. Still relevant on 25 August 2025.(!) The route is impassable from La Rechèze due to a crack in the pond's overflow. It is impossible to cross the path, which is closed by municipal order.This beautiful hike will take you to La Chartreuse du Glandier, founded in 1219, known at the time as "Notre-Dame du Glandier", destroyed during the Revolution of 1789 and rebuilt in its current state by the Carthusian monks in 1869.You will also discover the Étang de La Rochèze, built in 1457 to serve as a reservoir for the Canal des Moines (1457).Today it is an institute for people with mental disabilities.
