Description of the walk

(S/E) Access is via the Domaine des Monedières car park. Walk down the access road to the estate and find the path running alongside the lake by going through the gate in the fence provided for this purpose. Walk along the bank, with the lake on your right, following the red and yellow markings.

(1) Turn left, walking alongside a hedge, then right, following the red markings.

(2) Cross the wetland at the far end of the lake via the wooden walkway.

(3) At the end of this lies (yet again?) a huge anthill. Pass close to a dead tree and continue, set back from the bank, along a wide path lined with trees nearing the end of their lives, covered in moss, watching over the future of vigorous young shoots. Some stand petrified by the power of the elements. The route joins the D26.

(4) Follow it to the right to cross the embankment. Turn right after crossing it to reach the designated swimming and picnic area, and continue along the lakeside. Turn left to reach the car park at the Domaine des Monedières (S/E).
