This circular walk takes us through beautiful mixed woodland and past red sandstone cliffs to the Waldeck ruins and to the largest wooden overshot waterwheel in Europe.

A tour through the history of the Zavelstein fountains. The Zavelstein Fountain Tour covers 3 km and 19 stations, showcasing the history and special features of the water supply. It was created by the Black Forest Association Zavelstein in collaboration with the town.

A great circular walk for lovers of unspoilt nature who can't get enough of the calming effect of the forest and who are hungry for exercise in the fresh air and pure freedom.

Start from the Sarbacher Hotel in Kaltenbronn (Gernsbach). Several large car parks are available, so it's fairly easy to find a space. The car parks are connected by a tarmac footpath. Ideal hike for a family outing. No steep or technical slopes. There is a very long wooden pontoon leading to a well-preserved pond. Pets are allowed along the entire route. The trail is well marked with the option to extend the route.

The signposted Gernsbach Legends Trail (Genießerpfad) runs mainly over natural terrain and, despite a few inclines, can be comfortably walked in 1.5 to 2 hours of pure walking time over a distance of 5.3 km. It is characterised by its many narrow, sometimes almost alpine paths, which link the individual stops together. However, this means the trail is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchair users; sturdy footwear is definitely recommended. The signposted circular route begins at the Klingel Chapel (Schlossstraße, Klingelstraße, about 1 kilometre towards Obertsrot) and connects seven stops around the Gernsberg. The route is consistently signposted with the ‘little devil’ symbol. Parking is available at the Gernsbach Spa Gardens on Igelbachstraße. As a so-called ‘Genießerpfad’, the Gernsbach Legends Trail has been awarded the premium seal of approval by the German Hiking Institute.

Explore the Gaggenau region, with its mix of woods, meadows and beautiful views. The route takes you past the Schlossköpfel, the Pestkreuz and the Hilsberghütte.

A beautiful hike to discover the ruins of Ebersteinburg and Hohenbaden castles. Magnificent rocks (Batterfelsen) can also be found along the route. You can visit Hohenbaden Castle, which is well worth a detour, and enjoy a meal in its restaurant. There are also some beautiful viewpoints along the route.

Black Forest route via Wolfschlucht gorge, Lukas Hütte, Ebersteinburg castle, Battert rock faces, Ritteplatte, Baden-Baden's old castle, Sophien Ruhe and Engelskanzel viewpoints offering splendid views of the town.

A lovely hike in the Black Forest without any major difficulties. It takes us along wooded paths past Lake Sankenbachsee, the Sankenbacher Waterfalls, the Glasmännlehütte refuge and a short detour into the town of Baiersbronn.

This walk takes you through the twin towns of Bietigheim-Bissingen. The longest left-bank tributary of the Neckar takes centre stage – experience the Enz Valley in Bietigheim and Bissingen. Here, the Enz flows through picturesque meadow valleys, passes beneath the arches of the majestic Enz Viaduct and runs alongside the half-timbered buildings of Bietigheim’s old town. Rafting has left its mark, and the panoramic trail above Untermberg and the hills near Schellenhof offer some of the finest views.

With half-timbered houses, panoramic views of the Neckar and breathtaking gorges – discover the vineyard and rock scenery around Besigheim. Starting in Hessigheim, the tour leads along narrow paths up into the Felsengärten and offers views across the Neckar to the medieval town church of Besigheim. Following quiet country lanes, you reach the historic old town, which, with its traditional half-timbered houses and cosy alleyways, invites you to linger. On the banks of the Neckar, through tranquil vineyards, the route takes you past the Salenkanzel back to the starting point.

The ancestral seat of the Prussian royal family and the Princes of Hohenzollern, Hohenzollern Castle is one of the most visited castles in Europe. Perched on a high hill in Swabia, the building, adorned with numerous towers, has a picturesque, medieval appearance when viewed from a distance. The view from Hohenzollern Castle is well worth the detour, though you’ll need to be prepared for a brisk 20-minute walk to finally reach the castle.
