Val-de-Saâne was the first ‘communauté de communes’ (inter-municipal association) established in France (1964), formed by the merger of four municipalities: Anglesqueville, Eurville, Thiédeville and Varvannes. Winner of the first national ‘Village que j’aime’ award in 1969. Now known as ‘Terroir de Caux’ A walk starting in Anglesqueville, following the Saâne upstream to Varvannes, climbing up to Eurville, descending to Imbleville and returning via the Saâne to the centre of Val-de-Saâne. A distillation of the Cauchoix landscapes: a valley, woods and the cultivated plateau.

A easy route across the plains with a few wooded sections around the villages of the Cauchois region, where you’ll come across some lovely farmhouses. Not far from Doudeville, the capital of flax, this walk is particularly appealing when taken during the fleeting flax blossom season.

The route takes us through villages and hamlets typical of the Pays de Caux. The end of the route passes through a place emblematic of local agricultural activity: the Fontaine-le-Dun sugar factory, where sugar is extracted from white sugar beet from September to December.

A visit to Croix-Mare offers the chance to admire its church, its calvary and its artistically painted water tower. There are a few uneven sections to note when passing through the woods. Please take care when crossing the main roads.

The start of the walk allows you to discover the town hall of Mont-de-l'If, which was built from an old carousel from a neighbouring farm, and the church.

The morning of the5th stage between the port city and one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Hike starting from Offranville, passing through the Bois de la Londe. At Le Hamelet (in the commune of Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie), there is a short, physically demanding climb up the Chemin des Jonquilles to reach the Canadian military cemetery in Dieppe in the hamlet of Les Vertus. Then descend towards Petit-Appeville, across fields via Les Bruyères, with lovely views of the Scie valley. Follow the greenway at Hautot-sur-Mer to Pourville-sur-Mer and its beach. The return journey is via the Bois d'Hautot and the greenway to Offranville. In Offranville, if you still have some energy left, visit the William Farcy floral park.
