Vallée du Blavet

A signposted circular walk starting from the Promenade des Estivants in Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux. Through woodland and along the banks of the Blavet, discover the cultural and natural heritage of the area around the Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux meander, the Castennec hill and the Blavet.

Starting from the18th-century Saint-Jacques Chapel in Cranne, you will pass through the hamlets of Tallen Crann (with its beautiful wash house), Poulmein and Bourron, where you can admire some pretty houses. In Poulmein stands a war memorial, a reminder of the former resistance movement that cost four patriots their lives. This route is also suitable for mountain bikes and horses.

This route, starting from the centre of Baud, takes you to the hamlet of Keraudrono, then on to the famous Venus of Quinipily and its gardens. It is a pleasant route combining heritage and nature. The route is accessible to mountain bikes.

Immerse yourself in history through Melrand’s heritage. This route will take you past manor houses, mills, wells and characterful houses. You’ll also pass by the Oratoire Saint-Laurent, the Chapelle de la Madeleine, the Kerstraquel lake and, of course, the Village de l’An Mil.

As you explore the commune of Saint-Barthélémy, you’ll discover numerous streams, healing fountains and charming little villages built of granite. Among them are Saint-Guen and its chapel, rebuilt in the 18th century, the ruins of the Kercadio mill, and the fountain and washhouse at Saint-Fiacre. On arrival, the lake will offer you a well-deserved moment of relaxation.

Set off to explore the Manéguen (or ‘White Mountain’ in Breton), a site rich in heritage. Here you will see the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Manéguen, the Chapel of Saint-Michel and the mysterious Stone of Sacrifice. The route also offers a superb view of the River Ével, a tributary of the Blavet.

Follow the Goyerdon stream for a peaceful stroll, accompanied by birdsong and the murmur of the clear water. Keep your eyes peeled… the Korrigans, mischievous Breton sprites, might well be hiding amongst the small granite boulders lining the path.

A walk that will take you through granite villages, sunken paths and mysterious fountains. You’ll follow largely the same route as the Circuit des Écureuils, passing by the Chapel of Saint-Adrien, the Guervaud Stream, the hamlet of Tréblavet and the Fountain of Saint-Fiacre, before returning to the starting point.

Explore the wooded Sarre Valley, a Natura 2000 site, and be amazed by the richness of the local wildlife, including otters and freshwater pearl mussels. This route takes you to the Notre-Dame du Guelhouit Chapel, its ‘scala’, and the Saint-Isidore Calvary, finely carved by the Cadeboche brothers.

In the heart of the Floranges state-owned forest, this route takes you to the Notre-Dame de la Fosse spring, the River Tarun, the Goyerdon stream and the Roh-Du dolmens. An immersion in the heart of nature and local history.

This short route takes you along the paths, through the fields and past the ponds around the village of Pluméliau. A peaceful route for the whole family, ideal for a stroll in the countryside. The route is accessible to mountain bikes.

This peaceful walk takes you through woods, along the river and across meadows beside the Ével, starting from the ruined chapel of Saint-Claude. The route, which is shaded and flat, is ideal for families. You may spot roe deer, passerines and perhaps even a flock of mallards. Not to be missed: the oak tree trunk incorporated into the chapel and the tranquillity of the woodland.

A pleasant little family route, ideal for a leisurely stroll. The route takes you through farmland, past a farm and a small hamlet, and, best of all, offers a lovely walk along the River Blavet.
