La Croix des Bornes
Easy hike on the rural plateau of Les Bornes, with open views of the Salève, Aravis and Chablais mountains.

The Plan du Salève route from Cruseilles
Starting from Lac des Dronières in Cruseilles, follow a steady climb to reach the Plan du Salève. Continue to the Col des Pitons, then descend to the small resort of La Croisette. There is then a short climb before beginning a 10 km descent to Monnetier. At Murraz, you then climb back up towards La Croisette, and at Chez Tournier, you turn off onto the D215 towards Le Sappey, before continuing at a leisurely pace to the lake car park.
Grand Piton du Salève - Grotte du Diable
During this hike, you can admire the views of Lake Geneva and the Jura from La Thuile, then from the Grand Piton. You’ll take a short detour to the Grotte du Diable. For three-quarters of the hike, you’ll be sheltered from the sun.
Le Saleve - Pomier - Le Bois des Fées

An easy hike, even for children, that is both cultural and fun.
Les Convers, via the Petites Croix trail
A pleasant little walk starting from the Maison du Salève car park, above Pomier, with a section on the Petites Croix trail, to Les Convers. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.

Groisy loop via La Tour and Le Sarnieux
An easy hike with many remarkable views.
From La Croisette to Grand Piton
A pleasant walk starting from La Croisette, with a loop route at the top of Salève, on a short section of the "Balcon du Léman". The Salève des Pitons (or Pitons) is not the most spectacular part of Mont Salève, but it nevertheless offers exceptional views (the Franco-Genevan basin, the Jura mountain range, the Geneva harbour/Petit-lac, the Vaud and Valais Alps, the Arve Valley, the Chablais, the Mont Blanc range, the Bornes, the Aravis, etc.).
Circular Crêt du Merle starting from Boirond
A walk through the heart of the meadows, between parks and paths, with views of the Parmelan.
Very little walking on roads.
Keep your dog on a lead as there are cows and horses along the route.
Enjoy a lovely family walk, but watch out for muddy paths in wet weather.
The Chosal and Copponex loop and the Land Art circuit
Walk starting from the Chosal farm, including the Land Art trail and its twenty or so installations in the heart of nature.
Usses Valley and Land Art
Here is a double circular route that stays at low altitude, making it suitable for all seasons. It first takes you on a Land Art route at the Ferme de Chosal, then follows the right bank of the Usses upstream to the Ponts de la Caille, passing by the former thermal spa site of the Bains de la Caille, before returning along the wooded left bank.

Short, easy walk with some interesting views.
On the Salève Plateau
This is a pleasant hike, with beautiful views of the Mont Blanc range in the first part.
From the cable car station, the Geneva basin spreads out below you.
Panoramic views of the Salève
The title of this hike sums up the route, and once you reach the heights of Salève, you can enjoy numerous views of the Genevois, Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif.
Please note that there are a few tricky sections between the Orjobet Cave (2) and La Corraterie (4).
The Salève circular: Orjobet, Corraterie, viewpoints and Grande Gorge
A circular trail that showcases the many facets of Salève: climb up via the Orjobet Cave, pass through the Trou de la Tine, Vire de la Corraterie, viewpoint towards Mont Blanc and Rochers de Faverges, viewpoints from the Observatory over Geneva and Lake Geneva, descent via the Grande Gorge and return to the start by passing under the large rock climbing routes.
The Salève via the Orjobet trail
The Salève in Haute Savoie is a bit like the mountain of the people of Geneva. The Grotte d'Orjobet still bears the stamp of the CAS (Swiss Alpine Club). From Le Coin, a steady climb takes you to the cave, which you can then cross. After a final climb, you come out onto the plateau, which is also an alpine pasture. The view is simply magnificent.
The Via Romana
Straddling the municipalities of Vers and Viry, this charming little circular walk takes you along the ancient paths of the Pays du Vuache.
During this walk, you can choose to make a round trip to the Notre-Dame des Voyageurs Chapel. From the top of this oratory, a stunning panoramic view of the Geneva plain, surrounded by the Jura and Salève mountain ranges, awaits you. A picnic area is available for your use.
Circular in the woods of Cuvat and Pringy
A family walk in a circular route around the small village of Cuvat, through the countryside and undergrowth, along the Viéran and Genon streams.

Saint-Julien-en-Genevois circular
A lovely walk through the countryside around Saint-Julien and Geneva, straddling the border between Switzerland and France.Lovely views of the Salève, the Jura, the Vuache and the very pretty surrounding countryside.Ideal on fine winter’s days as it’s at a low altitude.The fact that it’s classified as a medium-difficulty walk is mainly down to the length of the route (around 13 km); apart from that, the walk is easy going, even with teenagers.
The churches and chapels of Viry
A lovely circular walk through the agricultural plain of Viry, taking you on a journey of discovery through the history of the commune and its former parishes. Ten information panels mark the route.
Le Salève via the old funicular railway route
This hike takes you up to the Salève via a (steep) climb up the wooded slope, following the route of the old funicular railway to reach the cable car station and then the Observatory. Once on the Salève ridge, you can enjoy the many remarkable views over Geneva, Lake Geneva, the Jura Mountains and unforgettable panoramas across the entire Mont Blanc range.
The Pas de l'Echelle and the Lumberjacks’ Trail
Starting from Pas de l’Échelle, a lovely route that ends at the upper station of the Salève cable car, passing through the Vallon de Monnetier, the Bûcherons trail, the top of the Petite Gorge and the summit plateau.
A hike featuring some very exposed sections, reserved for those with absolutely no fear of heights, and requiring the utmost caution.
