Start from the school car park near Groisy church.
(S/E) Head towards Flagy (west) and stay on the road for 300 metres. At the first crossroads, turn right onto the Château-Froid road. Follow this road uphill for about 300 metres.
(1) After a housing estate on the left, take a path lined with tall trees. Follow this main path and enter the woods. At the three-way junction that appears shortly afterwards, turn left. The path descends to a small stream: cross it and climb up the other side for about 100 metres.
(2) Turn right at an acute angle onto a more stony path (view of the Salève and the village of Villy-le-Bouveret). After 400 metres, the path joins a road: continue straight ahead for 300 metres.
(3) At the cross, turn left towards Chez Ferraty. At the end of the first hamlet, just after a house, take the path on the right. Climb above the hamlet for about 350 metres.
(4) Turn right to go around a large square house with a beautiful roof, which unfortunately is starting to collapse (May 2016). You will come to a road; take it to the left. At the next crossroads, turn left and leave the square house on your left. Climb up through the fields.
(5) At the top of the hill, admire the magnificent unobstructed view in all directions. Continue north-east downhill (view of Lake Annecy). Return to the D3 road and follow it to the left for about 100 metres.
(6) At the crossroads, turn right towards Le Sarnieu. Follow this road and descend for about 800 metres.
(7) At the crossroads with the roundabout, turn right. Follow the road south-west, cross the D3 again and take the path opposite towards the woods. Leave a path on your left and continue to a crossroads.
(8) Turn left onto a wide path and follow it south-west along the edge of the woods (gas markers). Go through the woods, ignore a path on the left and go downhill to Groisy church. Pass between the church and the school to return to the car park (S/E).
