Vogelgrun walks

This route follows cycle paths, tracks and trails, alternating between sections through woodland, along rivers and canals, and through countryside. Several places to stop and have a picnic along the route.

A stroll along the fortifications built by Vauban, a tour of the surrounding countryside, return via the Vauban Canal, a tour of the fishing ponds and return to the town via the fortifications.

Walk in the heart of the Kaiserstuhl. Small car park at the starting point. Walk with a few climbs through the vineyards, then after passing a pass, follow the ridge along a small forest before crossing it to come across a vineyard and its remarkable Mediterranean garden. Tasting possible. Return to the car park passing under the palm trees!

Although located along the Rhine and close to Fessenheim, the villages of Balgau and Nambsheim are anything but industrial. Between farms and housing estates with their carefully tended gardens, you can sense a little bit of Sundgau, nestled between the Vosges and the Black Forest.

Loop on the southern slope of the Kaiserstuhl towards Liliental and its majestic trees.Can be extended to go around Liliental or climb Totenkopf, the highest point of the Kaiserstuhl.The circuit alternates between vineyards, viewpoints, forest and Liliental pastures.

Through remarkable beech forests, climb to the summit of the Kaiserstuhl to enjoy a splendid view of the Vosges and the Black Forest. Descend towards Lenzenberg, then through the vineyard to reach the remarkable Liliental arboretum.

A lovely walk with a short section through the forest. Most of the route takes you through terraced vineyards and meadows, with magnificent views of the Kaiserstuhl. Bonus: two restaurants along the route, one at the start (Zur Lilie) and the other at km 8 (Rathaus Lenzenberg), which is well worth a visit: lovely terrace and views over the plain, the Black Forest and the Vosges.

This nice circular walk mostly goes through woodlands and vineyards. Along the way, enjoy many views, including one at the top of a nice little tower. During the spring season, it's a nice spot for wild garlic.

This is an easy hike, best avoided in hot weather. The route passes through the many orchards around Sasbach, then the vineyards near Leiselheim and the giant chair (Stuhl) that marks a vineyard cru. The path mostly follows the yellow diamond markers.

A lovely little walk with a must-see stop at the castle ruins overlooking Staufen. A walk alternating between vineyards, pastures and forest. Staufen, a small wine-growing and tourist village, where you will easily find somewhere to eat.

A panoramic tour in the Markgräflerland region from Britzingen to the Neuenfels ruins. Along the way, we enjoy great views of the Black Forest and as far as the Vosges mountains.

For a long time, the Thur was used as a dumping ground for the dye works in the Thann-Cernay valley and beyond, as far as Ensisheim, for chlorides from the potash mines.Today, these industries have disappeared, which is regrettable, but the polluted ditch has regained its wild beauty and the trout have returned. Starting from the Ensisheim Pond, this route offers a tour of the river, its tributary the Old Thur and its forest, the Thurwald. Please note: Japaneseknotweed invades the banks of the Thur every year, obstructing the view of the river between May and November.It is best to do this hike between November and early May.
