(S/E) You start the walk at the Marktplatz in Breisach. Walk to the right until you reach the next junction, then turn left onto Gutgesellentorplatz. Pass through the Gutgesellentor and turn left, heading uphill towards St. Stephansmünster.
(1) Via one of the many flights of steps, you’ll eventually reach St. Stephansmünster, the landmark of Breisach am Rhein. From Münsterplatz, you’ll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the town, the Rhine, the Black Forest and the Vosges. And, of course, it’s well worth taking a look inside St. Stephansmünster. On Münsterplatz, the ‘Europa Bull’ awaits you for a selfie.
Continue past the town hall on the left, then turn right and then left into Kapuzinergasse. There, the Franciscan monastery garden, with its fantastic views, invites you to take a break. From Kapuzinergasse, turn left and then, at the Radbrunnenturm, turn right into Radbrunnenallee. At the end of Radbrunnenallee, turn left into Goldengasse.
(2) Through the Kapftor – another medieval gate – and left down the steps to the Rheintor.
(S/E) Turn left and walk back to the Marktplatz via the Fischerhalde, with a view of the Rhine.

It’s also well worth taking a detour down to the Rhine. You can find information on the boat timetables here: www.bfs-linie.de

A short stroll through old Brisach. It’s a lovely walk and gives you the chance to see the town’s main attractions.
