Cross of Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie
Hike to climb to the Cross of Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie. Circular starting at the Auberge des Templiers (opposite the village church). Half road / half trails.
On the Sentier des Poilus, in Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie
This route, in tribute to the Poilus of the commune who died in combat in 1914-1918, was created to mark the centenary of the armistice. It will allow you to explore various neighbourhoods of the commune of Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie where these Poilus lived and to appreciate the beauty of the landscapes at the foot of the Monts du Matin.
In the footsteps of the Knights Templar in Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie
Saint-Vincent had a commandery inthe 13th century. "In the footsteps of the Knights Templar" is an easy walk at the foot of the Rochers de Treillaras cliffs, often on the edge of the woods, over gently rolling terrain with beautiful views of the plain.
Les Roches de Treillaras
From Peyrus, a varied circuit passing through the Pas de Saint-Vincent and the Pas du Touet. On the upper part of the route, hikers will enjoy views of the Rhône valley, the Ardèche and the Vercors.
On the hills around Charpey
This is an easy hike that will allow you to discover the surrounding landscape between the two villages. At times, you will have a panoramic view of the plains and foothills of the Vercors. You will alternate between a few paved roads, fairly wide paths, narrow trails with passages through the undergrowth, meadows, and the Valence Saint-Didier golf course. You will pass through the village of Saint-Didier-de-Charpey and, at the end, you will have the option of climbing to the top of the village of Charpey. Finally, you will walk along part of the Poilus de 1914-1918 footpath between the communes of Saint-Vincent-la-Commanderie and Charpey.
Around the Roches de Treillaras
A good half-day walk among the pines, boxwoods (what remains of them), beech trees and lawns.
Tour of Pélafol Castle
The stronghold of the bishops of Valence, whose rights to this castle were confirmed in 1238 by the German emperors, Pellafol has always had the same lords as Barbières, although it had a different suzerain. This 8.5 km circuit takes you around the castle in Barbières, via the Col de la Sambie.
The Pas de Saint-Vincent, Pierre-Chauve and the Col de Tourniol
While the Pas de Saint-Vincent and Pierre-Chauve are classics in the area, the route described here is less so... You'll need strong legs to climb the 300 m ascent below the Pas, save some energy to reach the summit of Pierre-Chauve, and a good sense of direction to reach Tourniol... but what a treat for the eyes!
Starting from Peyrus
This short hike takes you through beautiful landscapes and lovely trails in the foothills of the Monts du Matin and the pretty village of Peyrus, nestled in the Lierne valley. It is not particularly difficult and is accessible to any walker with good footwear.

Les Rancs du Touet
The Rancs du Touet cliffs overlook Peyrus and Châteaudouble; this hike takes you around them, climbing the famous Chemin des Moines and Pas du Touet and descending via the Route des Limouches. Beautiful views and varied paths guaranteed!

Walk in the Cirque de Peyrus along theGR®93trail. Very pretty view of the edge of the Vercors massif (Col des Limouches).
Along the Marette towards the viewpoint of the ruined castle
Short, easy hike around Château Rompu. Walk in the cool air along the Marette, climb in the shade, enjoy beautiful views of the valley, and return via the top of the village. From the viewpoint, you can see Crussol, the Chapel of Sainte-Marguerite, the bell tower of Montélier, etc. with the naked eye. However, a pair of binoculars is a welcome addition.

A short walk around the Combe de Saint-Genis with the cliffs of Musan, Épenet and Pierre Chauve and the Romanaise plain in the background.
Between Monts du Matin and Combe d'Oyans in Rochefort-Samson
A very pretty and long hike around the Combe d'Oyans with beautiful panoramic views of the cliffs of Musan, Pierre Chauve and L'Epenet. The ruins of Rochefort-Samson Castle offer a beautiful view of the valley. Information board at the summit.
