Pierre Chauve – Monts du matin

Mountain bike route no. 16.

(S/E) From Le Pertuis, take the road towards Barbières then join the Route des Ducs.

(1) Continue towards Chemin de Cany, pass “La Chabanerie” and carry on straight ahead.

(2) Caution: At the La Liore signpost, cross the road and take the path leading uphill to the right.

(3) You’ll come out onto the road at the ‘La Grande Côte’ signpost; follow it to the right until the next hairpin bend. Take the track on the left. Two technical descents!

(4) At the Maroux de Barbières signpost, ignore the track climbing to the left. Follow the signs for Barbières for 30 metres and turn right onto a faintly marked path to join a track.

(5) At Champ des Pins, carry straight on towards Barbières.

(6) At the Les Baumettes signpost, keep to the track on the right, still heading towards Barbières. Along the way, there’s a viewpoint over the surrounding area. Turn right towards Barbières. Cross the Barberolles bridge to reach the car park (start/end).

Please note: avoid this route in wet weather – it gets very muddy.
It is strongly recommended that you take IGN map no. 3136SB with you. Mountain bikers must be self-sufficient; professional guides are available if required. Emergency numbers: 18 or 112.
