Les Hauts du Treil

Jaguère and the banks of the Loire
This pleasant walk starts from the Yves Laurent promenade, runs along the Loire and passes through a small, pleasant park with a pond (Clos Saint-Julien).
The Fresnay Marsh
Until the 10th century, the sea bordered the village of Fresnay, then gradually receded, leaving behind a marsh that you can explore on this walk.
The Couëts circular in Pont-Rousseau
The banks of the Loire River by the former islands of Haute-île, Trentemoult, etc. The rear of Les Couëts, the Moulin du Petit Rocher, the crossing of Les Couëts along the tramway. Finally, the Jaguère Valley and the former bed of the Seil River.
Through the woods and vineyards south of Vertou
A family hike that crosses villages, forests, woods and vineyards south of Vertou. A circular route starting from the École de l'Enclos, which largely follows the Portillon route.
Banks of the Loire from the Île de Nantes to the Pont de Mauves-sur-Loire
Half gravel, half asphalt, this route along the Loire offers beautiful views of this magnificent river, with lovely shaded sections on the return from Mauves to Nantes. Several open-air cafés along the way offer refreshments and/or drinks at spots chosen for their tranquillity and ideal location.
The Sèvre, its hillsides and mills between Vertou and La Haye-Fouassière
This hike takes place mainly on paths. Going from village to village, it offers a beautiful variety of landscapes: there are both wide-open views of the vineyards and the Sèvre Nantaise valley, and wooded passages, particularly along the banks of the Sèvre.
It can be enjoyed in any season, with the colours and light offering ever-changing pleasures!
From the village of Couëron to Lake Beaulieu and then to the Loire
Starting at the town hall square in Couëron, this circuit quickly leaves the village to reach Lake Beaulieu, offering some beautiful views of the town. After circling the lake and perhaps observing a few birds, it ends along the Loire, which you reach via footpaths. Here you will find Jean-Luc Courcoult's "La maison dans la Loire" (The House in the Loire) and the "Tour à Plomb" (Plumb Tower).
Suitable for all seasons, this route is particularly pleasant in the low winter light.
Between Saint-Fiacre and Château-Thébaud
This loop mainly takes place in the vineyards between Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine and Château-Thébaud, south of Nantes. It offers some lovely views, particularly at the Belvédère de Château-Thébaud, which overlooks the Maine. The circuit follows farm tracks through the vineyards (some of which may be private). The landscape changes with the seasons and the different colours of the vineyards.

Circular between La Haye-Fouassière and Le Pallet
This hike starts at the port of La Haye-Fouassière and follows a circular route along the south bank of the Sèvre Nantaise to Monnières (on the Way of St James), with an optional detour to the reservoir on the Sèvre at Le Pallet (approximately 15 km without this option).
It offers commanding views over the Sèvre and its surroundings and often winds its way through vineyards.
Audubon Marsh Circular: Arche du Dareau - Etang-Bernard
This hike covers part of the Marais Audubon, a wetland that is part of the estuarine marshes. This area is a sanctuary for many species of birds, including storks, herons, egrets, ducks, harriers... An area of extensive cattle farming, it is also home to other less desirable species, such as nutria.
This circular route of about 10km runs almost exclusively along roads – some of which are flood-prone – but with very little traffic.
