La Forclaz walks

At an altitude of 1,627 metres, Pointe de Tréchauffé rises between the Dranse d'Abondance and Dranse de Morzine valleys. The route is often shaded but offers some beautiful views of these two valleys and the surrounding peaks. Superb panorama from the summit.

The rocky walls that line the trail will remind you of the quiet power of the mountains. The climb, which is steady from the car park to the refuge, invites you to take your time. It starts off gently, giving way to a more challenging section shortly before the end — a final rewarding effort before reaching your destination, nestled in the heart of nature.

A short family walk in the heights of the Gavot plateau, on quiet roads and good paths. From the Chapel of Champeillant and the Oratory of Perron, you can enjoy superb panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the peaks of the Chablais as far as Mont Blanc.

An easy walk but with fairly significant elevation changes and a walking time of nearly5 hours. Beautiful views over the Gavot plateau, Lake Geneva, the Jura and Switzerland, the Dent d’Oche massif, the mountain pastures and the Abondance valley. Along the trail, admire the panoramic view of the Vallée d'Aulps and Lake Geneva. An additional section, described in the practical information, allows you to climb to the summit of Mont Ouzon, where you can enjoy a 360° view of the Chablais, the Mont Blanc range, the Swiss peaks and Lake Geneva.

A walk mainly through pastures with a few sections through woodland. There are superb views of the neighbouring peaks, dominated by the Dent d’Oche.

Exploring the wetlands of the Gavot Plateau, this short walk follows the Maravant Marsh nature trail before winding its way along the stream of the same name. The return route takes you through the Buissons Brûlés wood. A route that is mostly shaded, ideal for a stroll on hot days.

A walk on the Gavot Plateau with two distinct character. You begin by strolling through meadows and copses, with lovely views of the neighbouring peaks. The final section of the route is very shaded, and you’ll enjoy meandering along the River Maravant.

The hamlets of Châteauvieux, with its chapel and 400-year-old lime tree, and La Gerbaz, with its mills dating back to the 16th-18th centuries, add a wonderful touch of heritage.

A short walk that begins in the very shady forest of Larringes and continues along quiet roads and good paths through the meadows. A chapel, a cup-marked stone, several drinking fountains and beautiful views of Lake Geneva and the neighbouring peaks await you.

An isolated peak rising to an altitude of nearly 1,900 metres, Mont Billiat offers a splendid 360° panorama and is a lovely hiking destination. Throughout the ascent, there is an extensive view of Lake Geneva. The (optional) ascent of the Grande Pointe des Journées is a challenging addition reserved for experienced hikers.

A short walk along forgotten paths where a good sense of direction is required. The first half of the route takes place in a dense and particularly dark forest. The second half, which is much more open, follows quiet country lanes and offers superb views of Lake Geneva. The Laprau Chapel and several wayside shrines add a lovely touch of heritage.

The Perron oratory was built on a hillock that is the highest point of the Plateau de Gavot (910 m). From this small summit, as well as from much of the route, you can enjoy extensive views of the northernmost peaks of the Chablais (Mémises, drystone shelter, Oche, Ouzon, Billiat). A family hike that follows paths or small roads with very little traffic.

A short, picturesque walk leading to the Champeillant Chapel, from where you can enjoy sweeping views over Lake Geneva, the neighbouring mountain ranges and Mont Blanc.

The summit is rarely visited, despite offering a splendid 360° panorama of Lake Geneva, the Chablais peaks, the Dents du Midi and the Mont Blanc massif. The route includes forest trails at the bottom and alpine pastures at the top.
