Start from the car park of the Larringes Forest fitness trail, on the D52 road between the centre of Larringes and the Pays de Gavot secondary school.
Signposts at major junctions
No signposting
(S/E) Head north-east and enter the forest. Continue straight ahead on the wide main path and ignore all side paths.
Red and yellow + yellow markings
(1) At the “Les Taillées” signpost, go straight on. At the next junction, turn left. Leave the forest and cross a large meadow. Enter the forest again and immediately ignore a path on the right. Then ignore two paths on the left and head down the wide sunken track. At a crossroads, go straight on, past a hunting lodge, then follow a fenced meadow on your right. Continue straight on through the forest. You will come out onto the Route de Chez Crosson; follow it to the right.
(2) At the junction at the hamlet of Chez Crosson (small chapel), go straight on towards the cup-marked stone.
(3) At the corner of No. 595, turn left into a gap in the fence of a meadow. Follow the fence, then a bush, and go round the rock outcrop on the right to examine it. Retrace your steps.
(3) Continue left along the road and, at the fork that appears immediately, take the small road on the left (one-way). Descend steeply, rejoin the main road and follow it to the left.
At the T-junction (with a large drinking trough opposite), turn right towards Saint-Paul on the Route de Chavancinnes. When this road bends left, continue straight on along a stony track towards Forchex and Saint-Paul. Ignore a turn-off on the right and descend gently (view of Lake Geneva to the left and the Dent d’Oche to the right).
(4) You’ll come out onto a small tarmac road (Chemin de Cumilly) and follow it to the right. About a hundred metres further on, turn right with the road (note the view on the left of the peaks on the Vaud side of Lake Geneva). Follow the road uphill, pass a large farmhouse on the left and arrive at a junction (mountain bike track opposite).
(5) Turn left here, staying on the tarmac. Pass through the hamlet of Chez Burquier (fountain, cross) and continue straight on towards Saint-Paul.
Red and yellow markings
(6) At the next junction, turn right onto Chemin du Stream (fountain-watering hole). At the end of this very short road, turn right.
Red and yellow + yellow markings
(7) At the end of the tarmac road, continue straight on along a path between the meadows. Note the view of Lake Geneva to the right and Mont Billiat to the left, and, looking back to the left, Les Mémises and La Dent d’Oche. Ignore a path branching off to the right and pass by the foot of a solitary oak tree. Leave a row of trees on your left, continue straight on and enter the forest.
Turn immediately right and cross a stream (dry in summer but a footbridge is available during wetter seasons). At the fork that appears immediately (not shown on the map), take the path on the right, which quickly leads to a junction you passed on the way out.
Unmarked
(1) Then turn left and follow the wide main path south-west to the car park (S/E).
