La Flamengrie (Nord) walks

A family-friendly route exploring La Flamengrie, a commune enclaved within Belgian territory. Best time of year: April to September.

"La Tournée des Chapelles" is aimed at experienced walkers and runs through the Hogneau valley. It follows farm tracks and small roads and connects the hamlets of Hon and Hergies.

This lovely circular walk takes hikers through the Haut-Pays towards Onnezies (with its famous wolf and the manor tower), towards Gussignies (home to the equally renowned Brasserie du Baron) and the Caillou qui Bique above Grande Honnelle.A must for anyone unfamiliar with the region!Mostly through the countryside, the route also follows a section of the RAVeL and forest paths.It crosses part of the Natagora nature reserve at Grande Honnelle, where there are clear signs instructing you to follow the paths and not to pick the flowers – especially not the daffodils or hyacinths, which bloom in turn by the thousands in early spring!

Complementary to "la Tournée des Chapelles" (the Chapel Tour), this route allows you to discover old agricultural machinery and connects different generations through its theme. A historical and rural route: blue stones and oratory instruments from the beginning of the last century, installed in official locations and also in private homes, recall the economic history of the village, between the stone and the bocage.
