Start from the Peyrouse hut.
(S) Continue southwards along the path.
(1) Shortly afterwards, go round a scree slope, descend and then climb again further on to return to the contour line (well-marked path)
Thisfirst part of the stage is the most challenging, and crossing the ravines requires your full attention; after that, the path is very peaceful.
(2) Pass under the Pas de Berrieves (which would allow you to shorten the circular route if necessary, by taking it to go directly to the Jasse du Play hut).
Continue along the path heading due south.
(3) Pass beneath the Pas de la Ville (which also allows you to switch to the other side).
Continue to the Grand Veymont forest hut.
(4) Climb up to the ridge and descend behind it (be careful, it’s steep and there’s a bit of a drop!) to rejoin the path.
(5) Continue along the path, heading south-west. Crossing several ravines where the path has disappeared requires you to look for the route a little higher up. Climb up to the Col des Bachassons (follow the valley closely, keeping to the right of the stream at the top).
(6) At the pass, turn right to reach the Cabane des Aiguillettes (E) in 15 minutes.
