Jasse du Play shelter - Pré Peyret hut

(S) Start from the Jasse du Play shelter on the^GR®91. You’ll soon reach the Plaine de la Chau and then the Fontaine de la Chau.

(1) Continue south after the fountain and reach a fork where there is a sign; turn left for the Grand Veymont route via the Pas de la Ville
Ignore this direction and continue straight ahead on the^GR®9to reach the Fontaine des Serrons crossroads.

(2) Carry on to the right along the^GR® and, following an almost level path, reach the Prairie de la Grande Cabane.

(3). Be sure to take the path marked by cairns that runs past the sheepfold, not the one that climbs up and goes behind the sheepfold. Continue along the^GR®91until you reach a sign indicating Châtillon en Diois is 22km away.

(4) Turn right at this sign to reach the Pré Peyret hut; camping is possible or you can spend the night in the hut (E).

Water can be obtained at the Fontaine de la Chau and the Fontaine des Endettés, 2 minutes south of the Cabane de Pré Peyret.
As a reminder, the regulations for the Hauts-Plateaux du Vercors Nature Reserve impose the following main prohibitions:
- Dogs are prohibited, even when kept on a lead
- Flying at an altitude of less than 300m is prohibited (therefore drones and paragliders are prohibited)
- Fires prohibited
- Deliberate disturbance of wildlife prohibited (take care not to disturb marmots and ibex, amongst others)
- Picking plants is prohibited
- Camping prohibited, but bivouacking permitted from 5pm to 9am
- Littering is prohibited (including in the shelters open to all!)
These strict regulations are necessary to protect the species and habitats found in this wild and unspoilt area.
