One of the advantages of this hike is that it is accessible by bus. To get there, go to the terminus of tram line "C" on the Seyssins side, take bus line 21 or 49 and get off at the "Pre Nouvel" stop. From the stop, walk down Avenue Louis Vicat to the starting point, which is marked by an information board and hiking signs.
(S/E) The trail starts on the right, perpendicular to the street, with a fairly steep slope. After a right turn, you will come to the first fork.
(1) Turn left towards the Comboire viewpoint. Ignore the path on the left. The climb is fairly steep for about 30 minutes. Once you reach the ridge, the path continues almost horizontally. Ignore the paths that branch off to the left or right and continue south.
You will reach a high-voltage power line; the next fork is not far away.
(2) Join the road that climbs up to the fort, then turn left and continue towards the viewpoint. After a little over 500 metres, you will reach the viewpoint located on a small promontory. This is the highest point of the hike and offers an interesting view of the entire urban area and the surrounding mountains.
(3) Take the fairly steep descent through the woods on a small path.
(4) At the bottom of the descent, turn right onto a good path, following the hiking signs towards Seyssins village. The path descends gently.
(5) At a hairpin bend, cross the Route du Fort de Comboire and continue straight ahead. Join the uphill path at the initial crossroads.
(1) Turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
