Brémontier-Merval walks

A circular route in the Bray region through fields and woods with very little tarmac and superb views of the rolling countryside.

This sunken lane, a refuge for animals typical of the Pays de Bray, winds its way through the rolling countryside of the commune of Avesnes-en-Bray, a land of springs and rich in footpaths, including the Chemin du Chasse-Marée, along which fresh fish was transported from Dieppe to Paris on horseback.

The "boutonnière" (buttonhole) of the Pays de Bray and the Epte valley. The Epte marked the border between the Kingdom of France and the Duchy of Normandy. From the Bray plateau, you can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding hilly and varied landscape. At one point, the route offers a superb view of the magnificent dovecote of the Domaine du Quesnoy, which belongs to the AVA refuge, an association that helps old animals.

From La Feuillie and its architectural heritage to the plains and valleys, then on to the forest paths of the Lyons Forest, the largest beech forest in France, this easy walk—bar its length—passes through the splendid panoramic views of Beauvoir-en-Lyons. This figure-of-eight route can be split into two circular loops of around ten kilometres each.

Hike along the Andelle, winding through fields, surrounded by valleys in vast natural spaces. Numerous panoramic views punctuate this route, as well as a pretty castle with its outbuildings, dovecote and the ever-present Andelle river.

You start from the old Noléval station, on the former secondary line from Charleval to Serqueux. After walking along the Andelle river, which winds its way through the valley, you can enjoy a balcony overlooking the valley. This walk, which is accessible to children aged three and above, offers beautiful views of the valley and allows you to admire some of the region's traditional buildings. (!) Following the storm of 2025, do not venture into this part of the forest while it is closed by the ONF.

Starting from Place du Puits de Corval, you can explore the ruins of the 15th-century fortified castle, listed as one of the department’s picturesque sites, on this peaceful route.

This pleasant circular loop starting from the church in Bouchevilliers, a village in the Eure department, takes you through the woods with a climb up the cuesta and offers up its rolling landscapes.

A lovely walk through rolling countryside. Lyons-la-Forêt is a pretty old village, usually bustling with activity.

The proposed itinerary is mainly through forests, roads and forest paths. It passes by Mortemer Abbey, the Fouillebroc valley and its spring, and Sainte-Catherine Chapel. The Lyons arboretum is a good place to stop. The return to Lyons through the forest ends with a visit to the main monuments of Lyons-la-Forêt.

A shaded day-long hike to discover the Norman Vexin with Lyons-la-Forêt, a listed village, and its large forests. This is one of the most beautiful beech and oak forests in Europe, with tall trees, an arboretum, the Fouillebroc and Sainte-Catherine springs, and the 12th-century Cistercian abbey of Mortemer.

This route will allow you to discover the Bray countryside around the Mauquenchy racecourse. Along the route, you will pass the Saint-Blaise Oratory and the Manoir du Randillon.

A lovely walk in the forest of Lyons-la-Forêt with a stop in one of the most beautiful villages in France.

A short, hilly walk between country lanes and open woodland. There are a few sections on tarmac, but these are in very quiet areas.
