A circular walk through the heart of the Bourgueil vineyards
Surrounded by vineyards, Bourgueil offers an exceptional setting for lovers of wine, heritage and nature.
Discover our family trail starting from the Maison des Vins de Bourgueil (free parking).
We offer a 8km circular loop of signposted trails through the vineyards, suitable for all ages.
Finish with a visit to the Maison des Vins, where you can taste the appellation’s wines and/or grape juices.
Ussé-Bréhémont castle circular via the Indre and then the Loire
Before or after your visit to the Château d'Ussé, which is rumoured to have inspired Charles Perrault's 'Sleeping Beauty', I suggest a lovely circular route along the Indre and then the Loire. There is the option of stopping for a bite to eat in Bréhémont. Remarkable views of the château.
From Montsoreau to Candes-Saint-Martin
Montsoreau and Candes-Saint-Martin are two villages that form a single settlement. They transcend regional boundaries, as the Loire and the hillside unite them.This route allows you to discover the terraced white houses along the river and the confluence with the Vienne.A walk best taken at sunrise to fully enjoy the light on the facades.
Please note: a recent update (June 2026) indicates a disruption to the route due to a landslide, likely above Candes-St-Martin (to be confirmed).

A raised walkway showcasing the various attractions of the Saumur region: the Loire, troglodyte dwellings, vineyards alternating with wooded and marshy areas.
Please note that the trail is impassable in the event of flooding of the Loire and/or heavy rainfall.
The circular Fontevraud Abbey starting from Montsoreau
A superb circular hike allowing you to discover Montsoreau, Fontrevaud and Candes-Saint-Martin in their natural setting and localities located in remarkable sites. The circular hike is done anti-clockwise on the hillside to enjoy a pleasant route through the woods and panoramic views of the right bank of the Loire.

The Châtelier circular starting from Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt
This circular route above Saint-Benoît takes you through beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests, before exploring a valley accessible to the most determined walkers.
It can be combined with the Téméraire circular loop to double the length of the route. In this case, it is recommended to tackle the Téméraire first, followed by the Châtelier.

This circular walk takes you to the clearing where Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt is nestled, in the heart of the Chinon state-owned forest. It alternates between clearings, dense undergrowth and open woodland, and allows you to explore part of the Saint-Benoît nature trail.
