Thorame-Haute walks

Very varied landscapes between canyons, forests and ridges.

Loop starting from Villars-Colmars, taking part of the Tour du Haut-Verdon. Possible difficulties during the climb: the gradient is a little steep for beginners and there are a few sections on slate rubble.

Trail on the left bank of a bubbling stream, very pretty panorama of the pretty hamlet of Chasse and Villars-Colmars. From the hamlet of Chasse, the route crosses the stream, then loops around the slope of the Gardette mountain.

A beautiful hike starting at the Pont de la Serre by the Lance pools and leading to the Lignin Lakes through woods and alpine pastures.

On 6 April 1944, the Maquis de la Ferme Laval was defeated after around twenty resistance fighters battled Nazi soldiers and militiamen for over six hours. This easy walk from Lambruisse takes you to the site of this tragedy.

A magnificent hike with no great technical difficulty, apart from the 1,000 m elevation gain and a distance of over 17 km. The ascent is gradual through a magnificent larch forest. At the summit, a 360° panorama awaits you. Breathtaking views at an altitude of nearly 2,000 metres over the Mercantour: the Grand Coyer, the Mole, the Pic de Chamatte, the Cheval Blanc, the Montagne de Cordeil and the Estrop in the distance, to name the most important. In spring, the flora is in full bloom.

A superb, slightly challenging hike from the Lodge des Robines to the summit of La Sapée (1,701 m). Pass by the magnificent Notre-Dame d'Entraigues church and near the Tartonne salt well. Superb views of the Asse Valley. Dense coniferous forest on the way up and deciduous forest on the way down.The Visorando app is highly recommended.

A magnificent, challenging and breathtaking two-day circular route in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, starting from the village of Allos. The route passes by Lac d'Allos and its refuge, Mont Pelat, Lac du Trou de l'Aigle, Le Cimet and its many waterfalls, including Cascade du Pich, and the Bois de Vacheresse. You will set out to climb two peaks over 3,000 metres high: Mont Pelat (3,051 metres) and Le Cimet (3,020 metres), from which you will enjoy 360° panoramic views of the national park.

A very pretty, magical and interactive hike under oak trees, hundred-year-old chestnut trees and among huge sandstone boulders. Most of the walk is in the cool forest. The Grès d'Annot are world famous and are a listed and protected site.

A hike to discover four glacial lakes among chamois, ibex and marmots!

It is the 3000m peak renowned as the easiest in the Southern Alps. To the north, it overlooks the glacial site of Lac d'Allos, the largest high-altitude lake in Europe at 2,227 metres. Mont Pelat, in the Mercantour National Park, is the highest point in the Haut Verdon.
