Panoramic loop of Chasse

Trail on the left bank of a bubbling stream, very pretty panorama of the pretty hamlet of Chasse and Villars-Colmars. From the hamlet of Chasse, the route crosses the stream, then loops around the slope of the Gardette mountain.

Description of the walk

The start and finish points are in the car park in front of the Saint-Pierre Chapel.

(S/E) Head towards the chapel, cross the hamlet of Chasse going straight ahead and continue on the path after the last houses.

(1) Take the path on the right and cross the Chasse (stream). You will reach a three-way junction.

(2) Keep left and, after a climb with wide hairpin bends, walk along the Barre des Sauvaires.

(3) Pass the Bastide ravine: it is a little exposed in places, but not difficult. Continue to the first switchback downhill.

(4) Enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Verdon valley and continue along a series of hairpin bends.

(5) Leave the path that branches off to the left towards Villars-Colmars and return to the right, following the contour line. You will come to the fork you passed on the way up after crossing the stream.

(2) Turn left and retrace your steps in the opposite direction. Take the time to admire the stone houses in the hamlet before returning to the car park (S/E).

A few hunters on the route, but they know how to tell the difference between a hiker and potential game.
