Tejeda walks
Roque Nublo from Cruz de Timagada
Nice hike near Tejeda, a little "off the beaten" tourist track.
Accessible by car via GC-60 and the small parking area at Mirador Cruz de Timagada.
This itinerary takes you up to Roque de Nublode, where you'll enjoy beautiful views of Tenerife on one side and Fuerteventura on the other.
Roque Nublo from La Culata
Superb hike to one of Gran Canaria's most beautiful sites. The road to La Culata is beautiful but narrow and winding, so honk your horn on the bends.
Heart of Artenara
As the highest village on Gran Canaria, Artenara offers unrivalled views. Numerous well-signposted belvederes allow you to appreciate them to the full. Artenara is also renowned for its caves, some of which have been converted into guest rooms. Worth a visit.
Pico de las Nieves
Circular starting from the Llanos de la Pez car park. This car park is very easy to access and has plenty of parking spaces, picnic tables, barbecues, water taps and toilets. It is the starting point for many hikes. This circular loop allows you to visit the Mirador del Pico de los Pozos de las Nieves and descend directly back to the car park. You can either follow the attached route or make a return trip. The path is shaded (in the pine forest) and offers a few viewpoints before the spectacular Mirador. Be sure to wear good shoes as the terrain is not easy (fine soil, rocks, pine needles) and slippery in places, especially on the descent.
Discover Pico de Las Nieves
This route offers almost 360° views of Gran Canaria's breathtaking scenery. The fresh air at this altitude makes for a serene hike, with alternating undergrowth and volcanic areas offering sumptuous views.
To Artenara from Cruz de Tejeda
Starting out from Cruz de Tejeda, this is a great hike for the whole family. The views over Tejeda and its valley are magnificent, with the remarkable peaks of Roque Nubio and Roque Bentayga on the horizon.
Los Azulejos
Circular starting from the GC-200 road near the Fuente de Los Azulejos car park. The terrain is quite difficult, so you need to be equipped with good shoes. The route consists of a steep climb, a flat section and a steep descent. The path is well marked, except between two points where you walk over a stretch of rocks, but it is easy to find your way thanks to the markers and markings on the ground. It is a sunny (little or no shade) and windy hike. Along the way, you can see the colourful rocks, which are magnificent! The last kilometre is along the road, so be careful.
Viewpoint over Gran Canaria from the K54
Not too difficult a hike, achievable with just trainers and water. Not much shade. Go to the viewpoint and turn back. The path continues but, according to hikers coming from that direction, there doesn't seem to be anything particularly interesting further on.
Ayagaures, its dams and canyons
A superb hike, one of the most beautiful on the island and close to Maspalomas. It is accessible, with no particular difficulty. The path is easy to follow and offers magnificent views throughout the route. The landscapes are impressive and, in places, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon. You’ll love the view of the two dams from above! A spectacular walk, ideal for discovering a natural setting unique to the island.
Guayadeque Gorge from Montaña de las Tierras
Beautiful hike above and within the Guayadeque gorges. A little difficult at first, then easier.
Playa de Güigüi
Accessing this beach is worth the effort, but it's a real treat!
Agaete, Lomo del Manco and Playa Guayedra
Set off from the charming town of Agaete for a hike that quickly gains altitude. The lush ascent offers superb views of the surrounding mountains and the white village of Agaete, nestled between the sea and the hills. The path then winds along the coast with spectacular panoramic views of the ocean. The descent leads to Guayedra beach, a wild and unspoilt spot surrounded by cliffs. This secluded beach offers an impressive natural setting and a timeless atmosphere. A beautiful circular route between mountains, ocean and landscapes typical of north-west Gran Canaria.
Teror loop
Circular walk easily accessible from Teror town centre, which is a sight to behold.
Several views of mountain villages (including Teror), the ocean and troglodyte caves.
A word of advice: beware of thorns if you decide to try the prickly pear!
Circular route between the canyon and the Arteara archaeological site
A peaceful and easy walk, far from the hustle and bustle of Maspalomas, ideal before a day at the beach or a visit to the Arteara archaeological site Suitable for everyone and no special equipment required! Set against a backdrop that at times resembles a Western film, or amidst the canyon and vegetation, make the most of this moment. The drive back offers a beautiful view of Maspalomas, its dunes and the surrounding area.
Sotavento beach from Agaete
Short hike before swimming in the Salinas pools and eating a delicious seafood dish. We follow part of the S-90, with a slight variation on the way back. The only drawback is that part of the road is dangerous, but there's a beautiful beach at the end.
