Superb little hike, so don't hesitate to make the diversions at point 4, but beware: the route is a little more difficult.
Very busy at the summit, as people come by car.

Beautiful views of Roque Nublo, the arrival at Pico brings us back to civilisation...
It's a long way from Agaete, where we were staying, to the start of the hike, so we went to the Roque Nublo car park, which isn't very far, to get close to it in the same day and not have to come back another day.

A lovely hike to the Pico de las Nieves in mid-September, starting at around 10:30 am.
The path is relatively well signposted, with no real difficulties.
There are alternating sunny and shady sections. We didn't feel any difficulty due to the heat.
This route is not very popular (much less so than the Roque Nublo hike) and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, including Roque Nublo.
The diversions via the campanario peak is worth it for the panoramic views and the fact that there are no people there.
On the other hand, arriving at the Pic de las Nieves was a bit of a let-down with the horde of tourists.

The descent is a little less pleasant (we walk through a burnt section with a lot of dust) but just as peaceful.

We can then take a break in the shade at the picnic area for lunch or a rest.

Beautiful hike to the Pico de las Nieves. Best done early in the morning so that the skies are clear at the peak and you can enjoy the fabulous scenery and views over Tenerife. Expect to be 10°C cooler than at sea level...
In fact, we went to the peak by car at around 10.30am (and it wasn't very busy) with a magnificent view, then we did the hike. We returned to the peak at around 1pm on foot and already in the fog... by the time we'd finished the hike and eaten, we'd left the massif in the fog and then in the rain...
