Description of the walk

(S/E) Park along the path, then walk up to the site and take the path on the left.

(1) Take the path on the left at the junction. Then continue for a short while.

(2) Take the path on the right. You have about a 20-minute walk through the middle of the canyon, amongst vegetation and palm trees.

(3) At the fork, turn right and continue along the path until you reach another junction.

(4) Continue to the right until you reach the fork.

(5) Continue right again along the wide path. This is the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria.

(6) Go straight on at the fork. Follow the signposted arrow for Arteara on the right. You can visit the archaeological site and enjoy the scenery on the way back. Return to the car park (S/E).

Circular starting from the Llanos de la Pez car park. This car park is very easy to access and has plenty of parking spaces, picnic tables, barbecues, water taps and toilets. It is the starting point for many hikes. This circular loop allows you to visit the Mirador del Pico de los Pozos de las Nieves and descend directly back to the car park. You can either follow the attached route or make a return trip. The path is shaded (in the pine forest) and offers a few viewpoints before the spectacular Mirador. Be sure to wear good shoes as the terrain is not easy (fine soil, rocks, pine needles) and slippery in places, especially on the descent.
