Description of the walk

(S) When leaving the lodge, take the road on the right. At the first bend, take the road to the Clausis Chapel (signposted). Continue to the toll barrier.

(1) Descend to the left along the wide track that leads to the valley where the Aigue Blanche flows.

(2) Cross the Aigue Blanche stream over the bridge and then walk up the left bank for about 3 km.

(3) Cross the stream to reach the Clausis chapel. Head due east to reach the Rocher des Marrous crossroads. To the left is theGR®58, to the right is a variant (not shown on the map but well marked in red and white).

(4) Take this alternative route on the right, which leads to the Saint Véran border pass (signposted).

(5) Continue left along the border and follow the ridge path that leads to Pic de Caramantran (3,021 m).
