The Faille des Trois Provinces
Cascading streams, mysterious places of worship and unexpected views set the scene for this short, fairly hilly route through the Versille countryside. You’ll pass from the Sédelle valley to the Chaudron valley, walking over the hills that form the geological fault line of the Marche fault. Where possible, do bring a smartphone to access the information provided along the route.
Étang de la Chaume
PLEASE NOTE: due to heavy rain, the route is currently inaccessible (note dated 17/02/26).
The vast Étang de la Chaume lake conceals little-known places that this interpretive route invites you to discover as you walk along part of the shore and wander through the surrounding woods and moors. Please be discreet around wildlife and fishermen, and wear good footwear in wet weather.
Grande Cazine Pond
The Cazine ponds walking guide was produced in partnership with the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels and the local association A4P. It highlights the exceptional heritage around two ponds currently undergoing ecological conversion. The pleasant route alternates between distant views and the immediate surroundings of these wetlands. If possible, bring a smartphone with you to access the information provided along the route.

This hike through the valley of painters allows you to discover a stretch of the Petite Creuse and Creuse rivers, as well as numerous viewpoints that have been a source of inspiration for many painters.
This is a family-friendly hike with numerous benches and tables, as well as information panels along the way explaining the paintings created in this part of the valley.
Grand Loop of the Creuse, Fresselines - Crozant
A fairly demanding long loop that allows you to walk along or above the Creuse and discover its tributary, the Petite Creuse. Monet painted these banks many times, and with good reason! This hike is best done when the trees are still bare. IBP56 rating
The Fileuse rock and the Arts trail, from Fougères to Crozant
This beautiful hike allows you to discover Lake Éguzon, the steep slopes of the Creuse Valley covered with moors where heather, gorse and broom bloom, and the steep cliffs of the Fileuse rock with breathtaking views of the confluence of the Creuse and Sédelle rivers and the Crozant fortress.The descent to Crozant follows the Sentier des Arts, a trail dotted with works carved into the local rock by five sculptors. Return via St-Jallet and the surrounding countryside.
Family walk around Éguzon-Chantôme
Having grown up in Éguzon until I was ten before moving to Limoges, I still have fond memories of my escapades along the sunken lanes of this village in the former Marche region. In the realm of chestnut trees, ferns and Limousin cattle, let yourself wander, loiter and stroll through the bocage of dry stone walls and hollow-trunked trees. Circular around the Éguzon dam via the Cassecou footbridge
This walk starts at the Éguzon dam power station and ends at Jarrige and its wash house. You will then discover Châteaubrun and the Fontaine des Seigneurs. Exceptional views await you at the Cassecou viewpoint, followed by the footbridge built for the 2024 Summer Olympics. You will walk along the banks of the Creuse before arriving at the foot of the imposing dam and ending at a viewpoint where you can admire it.

This hike allows you to discover the surroundings of the village of Cuzion, the Chéron moor, part of the Creuse gorges that you overlook at La Roche-Bat-en-l'eau, then you follow the river to the impressive Éguzon dam and its power station.The return journey takes you to La Jarrige and its beautiful wash house, down to the mysterious Fontaine des Seigneurs, then up to the intriguing Château de Châteaubrun and the sculptures of its current owner.
From chapel to bell tower on the Dunet side
