Port-Louis walks

This 9 km circular route around Riantec will allow you to discover all the landscapes that make up the commune. After criss-crossing the village, let yourself be guided to the small sea of Gâvres. Linger around the Château de Kerdurant and the Stervins tide mill. Keep your eyes peeled as you approach the Dreff marsh, where you may be lucky enough to spot passerines and other inhabitants of the reed beds.

This route will take you along the sunken paths of Riantec. You will cross the woods to the north of the village, walk along the old imperial road and discover the villages that punctuate your route.The paths can be muddy in winter, so don't forget to bring appropriate footwear.

Discover the natural and built heritage of Lorient harbour along the GR®34. From the historic port of Lorient, you will walk along the Scorff before reaching the Blavet estuary, which offers beautiful views of the maritime landscape. The walking loop ends at the Pen Mané pier in Locmiquélic. A water bus will take you back to your starting point in Lorient in 8 minutes. Remember to check the water bus timetable in advance. Board the boat again to reach Keroman and walk through the streets of Lorient to Quai des Indes. From the Bay of Lorient to the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, Cycle Route 8 (188 km) crosses the Breton countryside on towpaths and peaceful little roads lined with water points. The V8 first follows shared paths, passing through pretty residential neighbourhoods in the city, then through the countryside, before reaching the Blavet towpath, which meanders between the wooded hills of a green valley. Route 8 then continues along the quiet and winding Hilvern canal, which has been converted into a greenway, to join the Nantes-Brest stream at Allineuc.

Close to the town centre of Lorient and the sea, this walk is ideal for families: it will take you through 89 hectares of natural environments, along paths built in the 1970s around two lakes. You will appreciate the contrast between the shady green lanes and the mirror of the sea reflecting the blue sky.

A peaceful walk on the outskirts of the town of Lanester around the Marais de la Goden, whose banks have been developed for walking without getting your feet wet, then along the Ria du Ruisseau du Plessis. Pass by the small Chapel of Saint-Guénaël and its fountain, then the banks of the Blavet facing the Bay of Pen Mané, where the two rivers of Lorient meet: the Blavet and the Scorff.

This walk takes you along the Blavet estuary, between woodlands and salted meadows. Beautiful landscapes, fauna, flora, and a fascinating boat cemetery.

Mountain bike circular on the island of Groix off the coast of Lorient. This easy ride will allow you to admire high cliffs, beautiful wild headlands, pleasant ports and the only convex beach in Europe.

This stage is dedicated to the wildest part of the island. The north coast up to Pointe Grognon has a few small coves where you can descend to sea level. From Pointe du Grognon to Port Saint-Nicolas, the coast is very rocky and jagged; access to the seashore is virtually impossible. From Trou de l'Enfer, return to Port Tudy via the small road that passes through a place called "Le Bourg".
