Start from Place de la Liberté, near the imposing Sainte-Radegonde Church in Riantec.
(S/E) From the car park near the imposing neo-Gothic church, rebuilt in 1927 after a fire in 1917, head south-east. At the first crossroads marked "Maison de l'Île de Kerner", turn right and follow the concrete road that runs along the cove.
(1) Ignore the sign for the coastal path on your left and continue along the concrete road. Turn right to cross the car park and reach the Maison de l'Île de Kerner, a nature activity centre. View of Port-Louis.
(2) Turn left and follow the edge of the lagoon, heading east. The path is not always very clear, but simply follow the edge of the Petite Mer de Gâves among the salt marsh plants (sea purslane and true soda). Continue to the far end of the island.
(3) Turn around and take the first path on the right, which leads inland around a copse of shrubs. Continue with the lagoon on your right. Turn left then right to reach the concrete road. Turn right to return to the outward route.
(1) At the coastal path signpost, turn right and continue for about 100 m. Leave this path to join Rue Fernande Uzel, which leads to the Chapelle de la Trinité chapel.
(4) Go around it on the right, then turn left into the street that crosses Kerner, a former fishing village. Continue straight ahead to return to the car park near the church (S/E).
