La Deuille d'Ochey
A pleasant walk starting from Ochey, mostly through the woods, allowing you to discover a very pleasant spot, the Fontaine d'Ochey, a pretty turquoise blue resurgence, pouring out a good volume of water at this time of year (early April), but also worth seeing at other times.
Deuille d'Ochey and Puits du Chahalot starting from Bicqueley
This walk allows you to discover, particularly in mid-winter (mid-January), the phenomenon of water resurgences near the small village of Bicqueley, a stone’s throw from the town of Toul.
Blue, pure waters, springing up amidst beautiful forests.
Very little elevation gain.
The Chahalot resurgence
Starting from Allain, descend into a small valley in the heart of the forest, isolated from the noise of everyday life, where you can see wild boar piglets. Continue along the valley to a magnificent large oak tree and the Chahalot resurgence, which during high water periods bubbles with clear water from the Aroffe before flowing into the Bouvade. Return via a path lined with periwinkles and pass by a mirabelle plum orchard where you can see deer feasting.
Between vineyards and forests around Bulligny
A route to discover the heritage of the wine-growing village of Bulligny, its vineyards, woods and mysterious "blue pond". With a beautiful view of the Côtes de Toul vineyards.
Circular from Bois de Bicqueley to Pierre-la-Treiche
This walk in the Toulois region at Pierre-la-Treiche will take you to the Deuille, a small stream in the Bicqueley forest, with a return trip along the Moselle.
Circular route of the Moselle between Pierre-la-Treiche and Toul
Explore the Moselle circular loops between Pierre-la-Treiche and Toul. Starting from the car park at Pierre-la-Treiche, head towards Chaudeney along a small path through the woods on the right bank of the Moselle. Visit the Chaudeney dam and the two locks at Toul. Return along the narrow-gauge canal, then via the hamlet of Gare-le-Cou and the Château de la Rochotte.

Circular Moselle between Villey-le-Sec and Pierre-la-Treiche

Start at the Villey-le-Sec dam car park, hike through the woods of Villey-le-Sec and along the old railway line to see the caves.
Return on flat ground via the cycle path.
Maron - Pierre-la-Treiche
A leisurely bike ride along the Moselle with a few stops to visit the caves carved out by the Moselle in the karst rock when its level was much higher.
Maron/Sexey-aux-Forges
A beautiful walk through the forest and along the Moselle with a lovely viewpoint halfway along the route, complete with a bench.
History and tags in the Bois de Charmes-la-Côte
This hike is located near the Côtes de Toul vineyards.
You will discover the old Fort de Charmes-la-Côte and many vestiges of the past.
Pretty tags created by a local graphic designer add to the charm of this hike.
The paths and trails are easy to follow and present no danger.
However, do not stray from the paths, as there are still many hazards in the undergrowth linked to the activity of the forts. Keep an eye on children and keep dogs on a leash.
Moselle circulars: between Neuves-Maisons and Maron
Start between the canal and the Moselle, then follow the right bank to the Maron. Return along the left bank via Sexey-aux-Forges and Pont-Saint-Vincent. Discover how iron ore was transported from the old mines at Sexey-aux-Forges.

Between Gondreville and Villey-le-Sec
For a day’s hike, you can combine this route with the one covering Gondreville and the canalised Moselle, which offers a fine view of Villey-le-Sec and the hills around Toul.
Domgermain Plateau and Val-de-Passey from Choloy-Ménillot
A circular route starting with a fairly long climb through meadows, orchards and woodland towards the summit of the Domgermain Plateau. Cross its meadow, a Natura 2000 ecological site, along a hillside path where you will see the remains of fortifications dating from 1876, then descend towards the Val de Passey with a detour to the hamlet of Les Sept Sources (where you can quench your thirst with spring water from the forest) and its ponds.
Gondreville and the Canalised Moselle
Route starting from Gondreville, one of the oldest towns in Lorraine, with beautiful views of the canalised Moselle.
Circuit around Mont St Michel on the hills above Toul
Follow the contours of Mont St-Michel; no particular difficulty. It’s just a slight climb… a family hike.
Moderator’s note added on 20/07/2021: The car park at the start of this walk seems difficult to find (has it disappeared since 2012?). Suggestion: park near (5), close to the sports ground?

The Bois de Grammont from the Savonnières farm
This pleasant circuit crosses the communal forest of Foug from the Savonnières farm.
The Fort du Vieux Canton route
A beautiful nature walk exploring the Sensitive Natural Areas (ENS) of the communal forest and the meadows of Villey-Saint-Étienne, with their local flora and fauna. This route offers an interesting insight into the Fort du Vieux Canton and the military fortifications of the Séré de Rivières defence system (1874–1914).
Les Deux Malpierre
NEW ROUTE
Mostly in the Haye forest near Nancy, this route partly uses unmarked but perfectly passable trails. Follow the instructions as you go along.
After the Second World War, the site was home to an air base, used for 15 years by the US Army, as evidenced by the old concrete paths and buildings.
During the tour, you will also discover a memorial to the Resistance during World War II.
Mirabelle plums and grapes in the Toul region
A lovely walk through vineyards and orchards, with beautiful views of the Lorraine vineyards and the chance to discover typical Lorraine villages and their unique characteristics.
No particular difficulty, walking on good paths
There are many trails and signposts in this region, but this route does not follow any particular signposting. It is therefore advisable to follow the description and map or GPS route carefully.

From Praye, head to the Maurice Barrès monument via the Bois de Plaimont. Visit the village of Vaudémont.
Return via the plain, passing beneath the hill and the village of Chaouilley. Return to Praye via the path halfway up the hillside, passing beneath the statue of the Virgin Mary.
