Ochey walks

A pleasant walk starting from Ochey, mostly through the woods, allowing you to discover a very pleasant spot, the Fontaine d'Ochey, a pretty turquoise blue resurgence, pouring out a good volume of water at this time of year (early April), but also worth seeing at other times.

Starting from Allain, descend into a small valley in the heart of the forest, isolated from the noise of everyday life, where you can see wild boar piglets. Continue along the valley to a magnificent large oak tree and the Chahalot resurgence, which during high water periods bubbles with clear water from the Aroffe before flowing into the Bouvade. Return via a path lined with periwinkles and pass by a mirabelle plum orchard where you can see deer feasting.

This walk in the Toulois region at Pierre-la-Treiche will take you to the Deuille, a small stream in the Bicqueley forest, with a return trip along the Moselle.

Explore the circular loops of the Moselle between Villey-le-Sec and Pierre-la-Treiche, passing by old military structures and caves. From the car park at the Villey-le-Sec dam, hike through the woods of Villey-le-Sec and Pierre-la-Treiche to discover the military structures, then return along the old railway line and the Moselle to visit the caves.

Walk along the circular loops of the Moselle between Villey-le-Sec and Pierre-la-Treiche or the 'cave route'. Start at the Villey-le-Sec dam car park, hike through the woods of Villey-le-Sec and along the old railway line to see the caves. Return on flat ground via the cycle path.

Complete tour of the cliffs overlooking the commune of Messein, following them along the top and at their foot. Beautiful views of the natural evolution of the sedimentary massifs. Caution is advised on the cliff edge.

This pleasant circuit crosses the communal forest of Foug from the Savonnières farm.

This is an easy hike, passing by the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Cité d'Affrique, mainly in the woods, offering beautiful views of the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Moselle valley, and allowing you to explore the ruins of the Cité (also known as Camp) d'Affique, a Gallic archaeological site dating from the early Iron Age, around 500 BC. The Visorando app is recommended.

A getaway from the centre of Richardménil to its neighbouring towns: Méréville, Messein, Ludres and Fléville. This almost triangular route follows or runs alongside the old freight routes: the Canal de l'Est, now the Canal des Vosges, the Canal de Jonction and the old railway lines serving the Ludres-Fléville industrial zone. If you cross this industrial zone during the week, you will understand why barges and trains no longer run in the area... Route updated in January 2026.

A roller coaster ride around the Grand Canyon with beautiful views of Nancy, the south of the conurbation, the Vermois and the Vosges (Donon). The route is designed as two circular loops with a viewpoint in the middle. An easy section (start and finish) through the classic forest of the Plateau de Haye, but also a beautiful limestone lawn; a passage by the Fonteno stream in the heart of the old village of Houdemont and a more technical section on the hillside, with alternating flat sections and sometimes steep climbs. Circular starting from Ludres, crossing the old village, with panoramic views of the Moselle valley above Messein and crossing the Cité d'Affrique (Camp Leuque). A gentle section on the plateau but also some steep passages. Route designed to accumulate elevation gain (well suited to Nordic walking) but with possible detours. Route modified at the end of 2025 to take into account previously issued opinions.

A very varied route for those who enjoy long hikes or training in the mountains or on trails. Hikers will appreciate the views, while trail runners will enjoy the alternation between flat sections and steep slopes. The route is designed to achieve a relatively high elevation gain/length ratio for this region. There are numerous shortcuts available if needed.Updated in December 2025.

A lovely walk through vineyards and orchards, with beautiful views of the Lorraine vineyards and the chance to discover typical Lorraine villages and their unique characteristics. No particular difficulty, walking on good paths There are many trails and signposts in this region, but this route does not follow any particular signposting. It is therefore advisable to follow the description and map or GPS route carefully.

An easy walk from the banks of the majestic Moselle at this point, with views of the Toulois hills and, further away, the Meuse hills and finally the meadows and forests around the loops of the Terrouin.

This superb route offers an exceptional view of the Saintois and Xaintois regions from the Monument Barrès, as well as beautiful panoramas throughout the route, which is exclusively on footpaths. It also allows you to discover the very pretty medieval village of Vaudémont and its ramparts.

A circular route starting from Liverdun, passing through the communal woods of La Fourasse, then in front of Château de la Flie, continuing along the Moselle to Aingeray Lock No. 5. Crossing the Moselle and returning via a cycle path along the river.

A hilly circuit where you can enjoy the Saintois countryside and the nearby Madon, with breathtaking views of the Château d'Haroué (9) and the hill of Sion.

The inspiring hill is rich in history and geology and is a geographical landmark in this area known as the Saintois.

Easy circular hike starting from the plateau of the avant-garde in Pompey Start from the car park near the acrobatic course. Follow the yellow triangle markings along the entire route.
