Description of the walk

Please note: When planning this walk, take into account the shooting days at the Bois l'Évêque shooting range. (See signs on the D121).
Park in the Salle Poussot car park.

(S/E) Walk past the football pitch and take the small lane on the right. Cross the main road. Take Rue du Château and leave the cemetery on your left. Walk up the Renard hill until you reach a junction with a white path.

(1) At the top of Côte le Renard, turn right and go to the entrance to the Vaux site.

(2) Go up to the left towards the housing estate and cross it. When you reach the old school, go up the path opposite and continue to the top, where there is a crossroads with four paths at the edge of the woods.

(3) Take the carriage road almost opposite and at the edge of the forest that leads to Terres Bonembrame.

(4) At the intersection of Terres Bonembrame and La Croisette, continue straight ahead until the next crossroads.

(5) Leave Chemin de Bicqueley, which branches off to the right, and turn left towards the forest. On the left, walk along a small wood in the middle of the fields. Reach the entrance to the forest at the Tranchée de Taillet crossroads.

(6) Leave this trench on your left and take the small path opposite that enters the Bois de Bicqueley to reach the Fontaine de la Deuille.

(7) From this spring, head left towards the Bicqueley communal forest for about 1.2km until you reach a white path almost at the top of the hill.

(8) Take the logging road on the left at the intersection with the white road and walk for about 1.2 km until you reach the end of the logging area on the right.
Descend to the left for a few minutes to reach the Bornes trail.

(9) Take it to the right until you reach the D121.

(10) Turn left and follow the D121 to return to Pierre la Treiche. Walk on the left-hand side of the road, which is protected.
At the Deuille bridge, which crosses the Moselle, cross the D121 to walk along the Moselle and return to the Salle Poussot car park (S/E).

A lovely walk, but best done in good weather to avoid slipping on some of the steep slopes (and on Mondays to avoid being shot at by soldiers...).

Walk to extend the route of the caves
The explanation is a little vague... We saw several red round markers along the way. Are they useful?
Otherwise, it's a pleasant walk in the forest with a surprising "real estate" ending.

A little info, as we looked for it before the walk but couldn't find an answer: SHOOTING RANGE OPENING HOURS/DAYS
Tue 8am-midnight
Wed 8 a.m. to midnight
THURSDAY 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

A beautiful route with a lovely bed of snowdrops at a place called La Deuille, flowers that are specific to this location and bloom in March. However, there is no water at the resurgence. Be careful, as there is a very steep and slippery section in wet weather before reaching La Deuille. We did two variations of the route at the start after the cemetery and returned on the path that runs alongside and overlooks the stream. A beautiful option, but with successive steep slopes for those who don't like climbing.

A very pleasant route, easily accessible and well signposted.
Stop for a picnic at the edge of the woods at point 5 to admire the beautiful view of the valley and surrounding villages.
The Deuille fountain is quiet today with no resurgence, but maybe next time!
Thank you for this beautiful hike.

Precise route, except between points 9 and 10, where the route takes us through fields, even though there is a path along the edge of them.
Nothing particularly interesting along the route, but there are some lovely stretches through the forest. A few nice descents and climbs add to the enjoyment of the hike. Worth doing again soon to enjoy the scent of wild garlic!
Thank you for the route!
