Park in the Logis car park north of the village of Retail. (Signposted on the D133).
(S/E) When you leave the car park, turn left, go down Rue du Logis de la Forêt and, just before you reach the D133, turn left at the crossroads onto Chemin des Randonneurs (signposted), which runs between the two fences of the hunting reserve (wild boar).
(1) After the pond on the left, ignore the path opposite and take the path that climbs up to the left.
Once at the top, cross the Route Forestière des Planches and continue into the forest on the path that descends opposite.
(2) Cross the small stream and climb up the steep path to exit the forest.
(3) Cross the road and head towards La Frémaudière. Walk past the farm buildings on your left and continue straight ahead on the path. After about 400 m, leave the path on the left that leads to the pond and continue straight ahead. A little further on, the path leads towards the fields. Take the path that enters the copse and joins a higher path. You will arrive at the Genaudière scrapyard.
(4) Turn left onto the road (no entry) (from here, you are on theGR®364) and turn left once you reach the D25.
(5) After 20 metres, cross the road carefully and take the path on the right. Then ignore the path on the left that leads to the hamlet of La Bodillonnière. Further on, negotiate a left-hand bend and continue along a field. After the field, turn right and then left 30 metres later onto a path that crosses a newly cleared and replanted section of forest. You will arrive at the road.
(6) Cross the road carefully and continue on the path opposite into the forest. When you reach the Route Forestière de la Reculée, cross it and continue straight ahead on a path through the forest.
(7) After 80 metres, leave theGR®364and turn left. The path descends, crosses a small stream, then climbs back up through a coniferous forest until it reaches a small road.
(8) Continue to the right, then immediately to the left at the corner of the field onto a path that leads into the forest. Cross the D25 with caution and continue on the road opposite towards Retail. Pass a picnic area on the left (single table) and a little further on, take the path on the right and continue for about 500 m.
(9) Turn left onto a grassy path bordered by fields. When you reach the road, turn right, then left at the fork before the cemetery.
Turn left and you will arrive at the Logis de la Forêt car park (S/E).
