Montcel (Savoie) walks

From the car park at the church in Saint Offenge-dessous, this circular route leads south through countryside, forest and hamlets. Alternating between roads with very little traffic, paths and trails, it offers some beautiful views.

Route from Saint-Offenge-Dessus via the Col de la Cochette and Château de Larron An easy hike, mostly through woodland, with a short stretch across mountain pastures.

A beautiful circular on one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Bauges massif: a particularly steep but effective climb through the forest to emerge at the steep and more aerial Golet de la Pierre, a steady descent via the old rack railway line to Crémaillère, allowing you to discover the remains of this heritage structure; between the two, the ridge trail from Le Revard to the Tour de l'Angle Est offers a variety of views.

These two easy loops form a figure of 8, on low-traffic roads, tracks and paths through fields and woods. They offer beautiful views of the Clergeon, the Bauges mountains, the Semnoz and even Lake Bourget. They also pass through the villages of Saint-Ours and Chainaz-Les-Frasses, offering views of the Château de Fésigny.

A pleasant route on the heights of Le Revard, combining a variety of points of interest. Panoramic view of Aix-les-Bains and the lake, reminiscent of the old cable car and rack railway connections. Poets' trail in summer. Panoramic views, mountain pastures and cheese...

A short family walk that leads to a beautiful view from the Croix des Bergers. No problem for children in good weather, of course. Allow 2½ hours for the round trip.

A half-day walk to discover the tourist heritage, a chapel and panoramic views. The yellow-marked route runs below Mont Revard. This circular walk can be practiced in either direction.

This circuit takes you to Le Revard via the Chemin de la Crémaillère and back down via the Pas du Rebollion and the Col du Pertuiset. There are a few variations that add extra difficulty to this circuit. This circuit can be done in the opposite direction to the description.

Le Revard is a plateau offering magnificent views of both the Northern Alps around Mont Blanc and Lake Bourget at its feet. This circular route climbs from the edge of the old cable car station, ascending the very steep Pas du Rebollion off-trail, then, after a route passing through several bumps on the plateau, descends via the classic Pertuiset trail.Route modified on 3/07/2023 between (6) and (9) to avoid private land, then on 20/10/2025 between (4) and (5) to take into account changes in the equipment.

Right from the start, there is a steep climb from Cusy to reach the Chalet du Trousset. The route then mostly follows beautiful trails and paths through the woods, offering lovely views in places. The Visorando app is highly recommended.

A country walk between Lac du Bourget and the foothills of Le Revard. Along the way, you will discover wash houses, a bread oven, a number of metal crosses perched on stone blocks, the slightly secluded Saint-Maurice Chapel, the old village of Clarafond, etc. And, weather permitting, more distant panoramic views. There are no specific markings, but there are a few mountain bike markers here and there.

The appeal of this outing is not so much the chalet itself, but the small hill nearby, which offers a panoramic view of the region's peaks. It is also an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful hike on the plateau.

A short hike with very little elevation gain, accessible to all. It allows you to discover a beautiful natural site, one of the largest peat bogs in the Alps. In addition, the very short climb to the Croix des Bergers offers a superb panorama.

The teepee village is a lively place in both summer and winter, located near the access road to Le Revard from Aix Les Bains. But for us snowshoers, it's a destination for a walk on the pleasant Savoie Grand Revard plateau, starting from the Nordic centre of Saint François de Sales.
