Set off from Cusy on the RD911 towards Aix-les-Bains; park 2 km from the village exit of Cusy on the left.
(S/E) Walk back about a hundred metres towards Cusy and take the Route de la Chapelle on the left, which climbs up the hillside. You’ll reach a Y-junction.
(1) Turn left onto the Chemin de la Paille Haute, which quickly becomes a track. Stay on this track until you reach a cross. Enjoy the view of Lake Bourget, the Dent-du-Chat and the Granier.
(2) Carry on straight ahead along the Chemin de la Croix du Four to the village of Saint-Ours, cross the village and walk past the cemetery.
(3) Turn right onto the tarmac road that climbs between the orchards. Continue to the right along Chemin de Chez Martin. At the end of the road, carry on along the track on the hillside – this is Communal Track No. 4. Join the tarmac communal track again. Continue straight on to reach the start of the hamlet of Les Reys.
(4) Turn left between the walls onto the Chemin Rural de Chainaz. Climb up onto the plateau. From there, ignore the first path on the right (a dead end) and take the second one. Follow this track to the village of Chainaz-les-Frasses, enjoying a lovely view of the Clergeon.
Continue towards Chainaz-les-Frasses (north-east), cross the village and head (north-east) towards the village of Le Goléron.
Once you reach it, walk through the village and join the D53 at a wayside cross.
(5) Turn right onto the D53 heading south-east, then take the D253 for about 800 m
(6) Turn right towards the south to take the road through Fésigny, which leads back to the hamlet of Chez-Les-Reys.
(4) Turn left onto the Route des Côtes, which descends steeply. Return to the original junction.
(1) Keep left to rejoin the original route, which leads back to the car park (S/E).
. The only downside is that you have to make a detour via Goléron.
