La Goutte d'Eau Trail: a family-friendly route to explore the character town of Montbozon and the nearby village of Thiénans, with a magnificent viewpoint over the Ognon Valley. Trail listed in the PDIPR. Places to visit: the fortified house of Montbozon (also known as the Maison Bouday), and the Cygne fountain, a listed Historic Monument.

A beautiful loop starting from the town hall in Cognières, combining nature, heritage and tranquillity. The route passes through Montagney and runs alongside the Ognon river before climbing gently towards the woods and the Saint-Hilaire chapel, then the Montaucivey chapel, offering superb unobstructed views of the countryside. Pass through Rougemont and its national necropolis. Between typical villages, forests and rural paths, ponds and rivers, this walk offers a beautiful variety of landscapes and a rich heritage to discover, in a calm and bucolic atmosphere.

This route takes you to the Cendrey wind turbines and the old iron mines of Rougemontot, ending at an ancient Roman road.

Hike in the commune of Rougemont, a small town of character.

A route allowing you to discover several well-known and lesser-known sights in the region: Trou du Seri, Château and Lavoir de Gondenans les Moulins, Village of Nans, Châteaux de Bournel, La Gloriette, the cliff and château of Nans, the Grotte de la Pucelle and the Roche de Romain.

Climb the 146 steps of the Tour des Bois to discover a 360° panorama from a height of 26 metres. A third of the route is through woodland and the rest follows a track through the wind farm, one of the largest in France, which is shared between Rougemont, La Tour-de-Scay and Autechaux, in the Central Doubs. On clear days, you can see 36 of the farm’s 43 wind turbines from the top of the tower.

This walk allows you to discover: - Moncey Castle, former property of Marshal Moncey, who was Marshal of the Empire under Napoleon, - the restored old centre of the village of Moncey, its old railway station and its greenway, which follows the old railway line, - and a walk through the forest in the mountains, then across the village of Venise, with the option of walking around the lagoon to discover its flora and fauna.

A short post-lunch walk for the whole family along the Doubs and on the heights of Baumes-les-Dames.

This route follows the ridges above the village and descends towards La Lavaine. Enjoy several viewpoints over the Doubs valley and a section along the banks of the Doubs via Eurovélo 6.

The hike at Baume-les-Dames undoubtedly offers the most beautiful view of the Doubs valley "canyon". From the Chassignole viewpoint, you can see the Doubs river winding its way through the valley.

A beautiful stretch of cliffs and steep forest slopes offer magnificent views of the valley along a superb ridge path, ending with a glimpse of the industrial past of Baume-les-Dames with its old pipe factory and paper mill on the riverbank.

As part of its nature education programme, the Haute-Saône Hunting Federation has created an educational trail about wildlife and its habitats. In the heart of nature, you will find fun, interactive information points and display boards presenting the animals that live in the areas you pass through. The trail also passes through a remarkable area classified as a Natura 2000 site, notably for its dry grassland habitat and its discreet orchids.

From the river, you will climb up cool forest paths to the beautiful ridge line, discovering the Doubs valley from Besançon to Baume-les-Dames, with views of Mont Souvance, Montagne Notre-Dame d'Aigremont and the Vosges mountain range.

Colombe-lès-Vesoul, perched on the edge of the limestone plateau, overlooks the green and narrow Colombine valley. The 18th-century castle marks the entrance to the old village.

The route passes by the Madone de Dampvalley, descends to Dampvalley-les-Colombe, then follows the Colombine to the Veuvey spring (karst resurgences) and returns via the plateau.

This hike offers beautiful panoramic views of the Doubs river loops. The route passes through the picturesque site of the Cuves de Bléfond.

The village has one of the oldest names in our county: Bois de la Fontaine au Loup(Wood of the Wolf's Fountain). So, let's take a walk in the woods while the wolf is away, exploring the magnificent ridge line of Mont Dommage and Chassignole and their views over the Doubs valley, returning via the Val de Bléfond, forgotten by the world with its vats and waterfalls.

Starting from Silley-Bléfond, this loop combines forest trails, rocky ledges and viewpoints over the Doubs valley. You will discover Mont Dommage, the Chassignole viewpoint and enjoy magnificent views of Baume-les-Dames, the Roches du Quin and the Roche du Rechevet. A varied and panoramic hike, with a few sections requiring caution.

A short walk between several small villages, allowing you to discover a beautiful fortified castle and a unique dolmen.

A hike to discover the plateaus from the ridges overlooking the Doubs.

You will walk along the riverbank towards the ridges, passing the Narines du Diable (Devil's Nostrils), created from the tears of a good fairy who was imprisoned here, and discover the ancient thermal baths where the beautiful people of the Belle Époque came to recharge their batteries. You will then return along a path lined with old mossy piles of stones gathered from fields, in a green setting that invites you to linger and contemplate.

Come and discover the villages of Andelarre, Baignes and Mont-le-Vernois, small rural communities in Haute-Saône, along this pretty green route. Discover the site of the old Baignes forges along the route.

From the town hall in Vieilley and its beautiful wash house fountain, you will climb towards the line of ledges overlooking the Ognon valley to reach the Fort de la Dame Blanche viewpoint over the Vosges, hopefully without encountering that unsettling woman who haunts these places after dark. Then, from the old fortifications, you’ll descend via a wild path towards the valley.

This is the best way to discover the picturesque landscapes of the peaceful Cusancin valley. Take in the view of the village of Val de Cusance from the belvedere on the outskirts of Montivernage. We recommend returning via the chapel and the springs to discover the deep blue of the Source Bleue. It's just a short detour to ring the bell at the Saint-Ermenfroi Chapel.

From the ridges and along the river, discover the Val du Cusancin, which starts at the foot of the Saint-Ermenfroi Chapel. Formed by two resurgences, it offers visitors shades of blue and green. As you climb higher, you will enjoy views of the valley from two rocky promontories.
