Between Authoison and Ruhans

This is a circular route designed for walking but can also be done by mountain bike or on horseback. A mix of forest tracks, farm tracks and footpaths. This walk, mainly through woodland, follows a very short section of the Way of St James. The forest is very well maintained and the paths are clean.

(4) Continue downhill along this track to reach the hamlet of Millaudon.

(5) Turn right onto the D82 for a few metres, taking care. A few metres further on, turn right onto the Chemin de la Biche. At the end of the road, continue uphill along the forest track as you enter the woods. Continue to the end of this track.

(6) Look out for the red markings (two stripes) on the trees and follow them to reach the upper section. You will rejoin the main path here.

(7) Take it to the left until you reach the X-shaped junction where the Chemin de Compostelle passes.

(8) Turn left down this path, then arrive at a small forest track.

(9) Turn right onto this road and walk on almost flat ground until you reach the end.

(10) Turn right at almost a 180° angle onto the forest track. Follow a mostly flat section to reach a junction between the Bois de Chante-Oiseau and the Bois du Chanoi.

(5) Millaudon: why not stop off at the wash house here for a break, for example.

Worth a visit

(S/E) Take the opportunity in Authoison to walk around the village; it’s a lovely place, and there’s a beautiful wash house.
