Route to discover the surroundings of Le Pêchereau
This walk allows you to discover the commune of Le Pêchereau, which borders Argenton-sur-Creuse.
Starting from the old town hall, it takes you to the new one in the beautiful Château de Courbat, then along the Creuse river, up to the heights overlooking the valley, through woods and meadows, and finally to Grand Pêchereau, the highest part of the town.

Passing through meadows, woods and hedges, it takes you from Les Granges to Chenet beach, via La Pierre à la Marthe, the Château de la Prune and Saint-Saturnin Church. This rural landscape was a source of inspiration and exploration for a man who loved nature: the poet Maurice Rollinat.

This hike allows you to discover the surroundings of the village of Cuzion, the Chéron moor, part of the Creuse gorges that you overlook at La Roche-Bat-en-l'eau, then you follow the river to the impressive Éguzon dam and its power station.The return journey takes you to La Jarrige and its beautiful wash house, down to the mysterious Fontaine des Seigneurs, then up to the intriguing Château de Châteaubrun and the sculptures of its current owner.
