Description of the walk

The route starts at the church square.

(S/E) Follow the D913 towards Éguzon. Pass the first road on your left.

(1) At the first bend, take the path directly opposite on the left-hand side of the road. The path descends towards the Ruisseau de la Fortune. Cross the stream via the stone footbridge and head back up the path.

(2) At the first junction, take the path on the right and rejoin the D72 (Route de Chamorin).

(3) Turn right and cross the D913 to take the path opposite. At the next junction, turn onto the path on the left.

(4) At the entrance to Lagedemont, by the cross, take the road on the right and go through the village. On leaving the village, by the farm, continue along the road on the left, passing under a power line.

(5) At the next junction, take the road on the right. About a hundred metres further on, at a large crossroads, take the path on the right. After passing under the high-voltage power line, the path descends towards the Ruisseau de la Fortune.

(6) There is no footbridge; at this point, simply step across the stream. Continue along the wide path on the other side of the stream and head back up towards the hamlet of Chamblant.

(7) At the entrance to the hamlet, take the road on the right. Once past the Ruzay farm, the road turns into a wide grassy track that descends towards the stream. At the next junction (at the bottom of the valley), follow the track that climbs up to your left.

(8) Do not join the road; cross the track and take the grassy path leading uphill opposite you. This path goes round the village of Baraize. At the end of the path, join the small road on the right which leads back down behind the village hall. Once you reach the D913, head back to the church square a few metres to the right (S/E).

A very lovely route, despite a few sections that haven’t been maintained by the local council (tall grass). We managed to get through anyway, but you need to have a map with you so you don’t go astray. Otherwise, the walk is very pleasant.

A well-signposted route.
Some uninteresting sections along the road or through the fields.

A lovely route, mostly through the countryside, with some beautiful views. We did it in the rain! The car park at Baraize Church is a very pleasant place to park. The signposting is excellent.
