Lesménils walks

This historical walk (First World War) winds its way from one battlefield to another. The route runs between two strategic points: Le Xon, occupied by the French on French territory, and Le Froidmont, on German territory following Germany's annexation of Alsace and Moselle in 1870.

Between the botanical trail and the old stones of Mousson Castle.

Pass by the summit of Butte de Mousson, with its castle ruins, and Butte de Xon, with its trenches dating from the First World War.

Hike between Arry, Mardigny and Lorry-Mardigny to visit their forests, limestone grasslands and local buildings. This is a pleasant route with no major difficulties, except perhaps at the end with a steep 400-metre climb. Take care in hot weather as there are several sections without shade.
