Les Cassés walks

Discover the different landscapes of the Lauragais. Along the route, which is not difficult but hilly, you will find dirt tracks, historical remains and sites, and charming villages. This hike requires a little navigation, so an IGN map will be a great help.

Half of this route follows theGR® 653, which runs alongside the Canal du Midi, synonymous with tranquillity, shade and coolness.

From the Lac de Lenclas site, it is worth making a short detour to visit the pretty village of Saint-Félix-Lauragais. Most of the hike is on roads.

Poor donkey. According to legend, the miller tied a rope around its neck and hoisted it up to the top of the roof so that it could graze on a tuft of grass that was sticking out. You can guess how it ended. In its memory, come and take a walk in these pretty valleys of the Lauragais.

A spectacular and iconic 48.2 km online route through the Lauragais region, the "Collines du Vent" (Windy Hills) connect Avignonet-Lauragais and Fanjeaux. Numerous windmills are dotted across these first hills of the Piège, taking advantage of the generous winds that blow alternately from the Mediterranean (the autan or marin) and the Atlantic (the cers). The view stretches far beyond the hills to the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire. Eleven information panels provide details about the local heritage. This walk offers beautiful views as it mainly follows ridge paths and passes by beautiful buildings in the Pays de Cocagne.

Section of the "sentier des sommets" trail, cut off from the link with Revel, reducing the total distance to 14 km. No technical difficulties, with beautiful views of the Lauragais. The route ends with a shaded walk around the lake, where you can swim in season.

This walk, which is flat and easy, takes you around the bastide town of Revéloise and allows you to discover some historical sites. The starting point is right next to the municipal swimming pool.

This hike offers beautiful views of the Pyrenees and Lauragais and allows you to enjoy the tranquillity of the canal while admiring its engineering structures, such as the small port of Gardouch, the Aqueduct des Voûtes which spans the River Hers, and the Renneville Lock.

A very pretty little circuit, without any difficulty, offering superb views of the Lac de la Ganguise, the hillsides and the Pyrenees. There is very little tarmac, with most of the route following wide, clean paths. The starting point offers a chance to discover the magnificent little castle of Belflou.

A short loop around Montgaillard-Lauragais, where the Lauragais region gives way to the Hers valley and the Canal du Midi. Beautiful views of the Pyrenees, if visibility is good, and a short section of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, coming from Arles (GR®® 653).

The Collines du Vent route then takes on its full spectacular dimension: the pechs are swept by winds blowing alternately from the Mediterranean (the autan or marin) and the Atlantic (cers). There are few trees on the hills, which also means that there is little shade in summer, so the sun beats down hard on the hills. The Chemin des Amoureux (Lovers' Path) takes you up the Laudot valley toward Cammazes. You return on the GR7.

From the Gardouch lock and the Canal du Midi, a pleasant and easy walk in good weather.

Starting from the village centre, this beautiful loop takes you north of the village through a varied landscape of hills to the hamlet of Ardialle and through Saint-Jean before climbing back up to Puylaurens. Can be done on foot or by mountain bike. Yellow markings.
