Park at the town hall square along the lake in Roumens.
Follow the yellow markings, which are not very obvious in places.
(S/E) Go up Chemin de la Lande, with the lake on your left. After about 80 metres, leave Chemin de Bouzigas on your left and continue straight on towards the château. Go around it and continue up this small road for about 400 metres, passing a few trees before a bend in the road to the left.
(1) Take the grassy path on your right along the trees that run alongside the Roumens plateau. This path turns right and descends to a T-junction with a farm track.
(2) At this intersection, turn left and climb this stony path to the top of the plateau.
(3) At the intersection, take the hairpin bend to the left (the short path on the right leads to the D67 towards Montégut). Follow this long road straight ahead for over 3.5 km. You will pass through the Lauragais wind farm. Ignore the small paths on either side that lead to the wind turbines. Pass a directional sign and then the electrical transformer with an information panel about the wind turbines.
(4) At this transformer, you have two options:
- Take a shortcut via the path on the left, which joins the initial fork, then return to Roumens.
- Continue the hike (option chosen on the map and in the description). Continue along the wind farm path. At the end of this path, you will come to a small road between two houses. Take the left turn to the intersection.
(5) There are two more options:
- To the right, the road leads to Saint Félix de Lauragais after about 1 km if you want to take a short detour that is well worth it.
- Turn left (the option we chose). The small road becomes a grassy path, which you follow for almost 1 km to reach an intersection.
(6) At the intersection, take the path on your right that descends through a grove. The grass becomes tarmac. You will reach the Impasse de l'Envigne and walk alongside some vineyards on your left before arriving at a T-junction.
(7) At this intersection, turn left. The small road becomes a grassy path again at the Ensandric farm. Continue along it until you reach the Roumens D43 road.
(8) You are now at a hunting car park. Turn left and follow this road for about 150 metres. At a slight bend to the left, turn right onto a wide grassy path that crosses the fields. Follow it for several hundred metres until you reachthe first path on the left.
(9) Turn left again onto a wide path and continue straight ahead in a north-easterly direction until you reach the road.
(10) At the road, turn left. Stay on this small road until you reach the stop sign. Turn right and head towards the village centre (S/E).
