Park in the car park near the Church of Notre Dame des Miracles (listed as a historic monument).
(S/E) From the car park, head south-west down the street to reach Grand Rue at the Poivrière Tower (listed as a historic monument) and turn left.
Continue along this street (yellow markings), ignoring the side roads, until you reach an intersection where you will see the red and white markings ofthe GR® 653.
(1) Follow theGR® to the right, taking the Chemin de la Porte d'Autan and then turning left onto the Chemin de Cantarrane before taking the small path that branches off to the right, still on the GR®. Continue to the intersection further on.
(2) Continue to follow theGR® trail, turning right. After a gradual climb, the slope levels out. You will reach a road.
(3) Turn right, still on theGR®. A few metres further on, the tarmac turns into a path on the Chemin des Remparts, which leads to the Phare de l'Aéropostale, where there is also an orientation table.
Continue on theGR® and exit through the fortified gate. Take the descent to the left to come out further on a road (Chemin des Coustous).
(4) Turn left and continue to follow theGR® trail, ignoring all side paths. You will pass the Church of Saint-Pierre d'Alzonne (listed as a historic monument). Continue straight ahead (Chemin des Tounisses) until you reach the D6113.
(5) Cross this road with extreme caution and take the Chemin de la rivière d'Aillade opposite, which leads a few dozen metres further on to the Canal du Midi.
(6) "Before continuing on the route, I recommend turning left to discover the Seuil de Naurouze (2 km round trip)."
Turn right and follow the Canal du Midi to the Emborrel lock.
(7) Turn right onto the D43 road. Further on, at the railway line, turn right until you reach a tunnel under the railway.
(8) Take the tunnel on the left and you will come out onto the D813. Turn right and walk a few metres along the pavement before turning left onto Rue des Troubadours.
(9) Continue along this street and a few metres further on, turn right onto Grand Rue until you reach the Tour Poivrière. Simply go up to the left to reach the car park and finish your walk (S/E).
