La Mourade and Le Thort from La Bastide-Puylaurent
A very pleasant, bucolic hike on well-marked paths, with no major technical difficulties.
You will pass through varied landscapes with numerous panoramic views.
Circular forest loop starting from La Bastide-Puylaurent
A long, very shaded route where only the distance may pose a problem. The bulk of the climb is between points (7) and (10), but it is fairly steady. The route passes through the Laveyrune forest rather than via the abbey as it is less crowded, but it is easy to head down to Notre-Dame des Neiges and return via theGR®7.
Circular routes from La Bastide-Puylaurent to Notre-Dame des Neiges Abbey
Circular Écureuil and Busard loop. Set off along the paths towards Notre-Dame des Neiges Abbey and the Allier Valley. This hike can also be done in the opposite direction.

Short route on the heights of Saint-Laurent-les-Bains to the watchtower overlooking the village.
You can enjoy the hot spring (53°C) located in the central square as well as the thermal baths.
Cheylard-l'Évêque - Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Abbey
Fifth stage of a complete journey on the Chemin de Stevenson between Le Puy-en-Velay and Alès. This stage includes significant changes to the GR®70 signposting. Alternatives exist, notably to go directly to La Bastide-Puylaurent without passing through Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
The upper Langouyrou valley via Cheylard-l'Évêque
A very pleasant hike through meadows and woods, the latter being very diverse. There are many landscapes and viewpoints, notably over the Mercoire forest and the Moure de la Gardille. All seasons are interesting: spring with its rushing rivers, summer with its refreshing forests, autumn marked by a symphony of colours.
Chasseradès - Le Bleymard
Seventh stage of a complete journey on the Chemin de Stevenson between Le Puy-en-Velay and Alès. This stage may include significant changes to the GR®70 signposting, and represents the end of the section corresponding to the crossing of the Gévaudan.

Route du Langouyrou in Langogne
Discover, in a single hike and in turn, the upper Allier valley and then the torrential Langouyrou valley, following in the footsteps of the writer and traveller Robert Louis Stevenson. Open to all, this walk is also accessible with a pushchair or wheelchair.
The Moure de la Gardille from Mirandol
Circular walk to the summit of Moure de la Gardille at an altitude of over 1,500 metres.
Depart from Mirandol via the old Chemin de la Balade trail, heading towards Airolle and the Sources de l'Allier, and return via Sogne Longue and Les Mouleyres.
Loop above L'Estampe from Mirandol
A shaded hike through the beech and pine forests of the Goulet mountain. You will follow part of the GR®70, the famous Stevenson Trail, named after the journey made through the Cévennes in 1878 by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, accompanied by a donkey.
Lake Langogne and Donozau Waterfall
This hike offers beautiful views of the Naussac Reservoir and the Rac de Langogne, and you can discover the small Donozau waterfall along beautiful paths.
Les Valadous
Although it is very flat, the summit of Les Valadous offers a 360° panorama of the Alps and the Massif Central.
The round trip from the Col du Pendu is a very easy family walk along wide, clearly marked tracks.
This route also features a balcony-like section along the edge of the plateau with an impressive bird’s-eye view of the upper Ardèche valley. This part of the route, on a poorly defined path, is more challenging and is reserved for more experienced hikers. It may also be temporarily inaccessible when this moorland is used for grazing (see practical information).
The Goulet Forest from Prévenchères
Hike north of Prévenchères with a reasonable elevation gain. The weak point of the hike is, of course, the start on tarmac, but it allows you to warm up with the Chassezac on your left. After that, it's just paths and trails between mountain pastures and forest.
The Gorges de la Borne, starting from Le Bez
A magnificent hike to do in autumn; the colours are stunning. Make sure you wear suitable footwear as there are some stony paths.
The Gloria Friedmann Lighthouse from Borne
In Ardèche, this circular hike takes you to the Gloria Friedmann Lighthouse, located on the watershed at the summit of Moure de l'Abéouradou.
The Serre de la Pierre Plantée from the start at Cros de Boutazon

Montselgues - Ourlette
This was the last stage of our tour of the Chap del Bosc national forest, a short stage to give us time to get home afterwards.It was a magnificent stage in ever-changing greenery, with mushrooms, flowers, forest and inviting streams.We didn't meet anyone there.
Montselgues - Fereyrolles route
A beautiful hike through the chestnut trees, starting from "Le Sentier des Morts qui tue les Vivants" (The Path of the Dead that Kills the Living).

A beautiful balcony hike with superb views of the Ruisseau de Chamier valley. In autumn, the colours are magnificent. We start from the Montselgues plateau and descend gently into the valley before climbing back up to the Montselgues plateau in a fairly strenuous climb.

A challenging first part of the walk:- Long descent to the Borne valley.- Ascent along the left bank of the river with a tricky but well-maintained section.- Long climb up to the plateau.Then it's a "stroll" with a beautiful crossing of the granite chaos near La Borie.
Pradelles - Cheylard-l'Évêque
This is the 4th stage of a complete journey on the Chemin de Stevenson between Le Puy-en-Velay and Alès. This stage marks the transition from the Pays des Puys du Velay, with its open, hilly landscapes, to the Gévaudan, with its more enclosed landscapes and deep woodlands. The route follows the GR®70 (Red and White waymarkers).

Starting point at the Gorges de l'Allier in Pomeyrols
You can discover the beauty of the Allier Gorges in Pomeyrols, a hamlet in the commune of Naussac-Fontanes, situated 8 km north of Langogne.
The Chassezac Gorges upstream from La Garde Guérin
A challenging hike around La Garde Guérin. The route takes in the Chassezac Gorges and the Cévennes railway line. It passes close to the Albespeyres tunnel, which is over 1,500 metres long. Return via the Régordane path and La Garde Guérin golf course.
Belvédère and balconies of the Chassezac
A short, very easy hike that can be done with the family. The first 500 m section follows the Chassezac viewpoint route with magnificent views of the gorges and the Roure plateau opposite. On a clear day, you can see Mont Ventoux. The second part follows part of the greenway, created on the abandoned route of the old RN106. On the way back, it passes through fields and hamlets to return to the starting point, with beautiful views of the village of La Garde Guérin, which is well worth a visit.
The Patus Forest
This route takes you through several typical villages of the Margeride region with their rich and varied heritage, as well as the wonderful Patus Forest where you can enjoy unspoilt nature.
The sources of the Lot
Walk along the first few kilometres of the Lot to its source, between forests and meadows.
Thines - Montselgues circuit
A pleasant loop, first through chestnut trees and then along the Roman road on the plateau above Montselgues.
Ferme de l'Espinas circular loop
A very pretty path, mostly paved slanting street and mostly open, offering views of the valley, the village of Thines and the surrounding ridges.
At the top of the circular route, you will discover the Ferme de l'Espinas, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries and listed as a historic monument.
Thines... a jewel perched high above
This hike takes you to the village of Thines and the Church of Notre-Dame, undoubtedly a jewel of Romanesque art in the heart of the Cévennes mountains. All along this trail, the view of the village and the wild mountains surrounding it is magnificent!
Le Bleymard - Pont-de-Montvert
Eighth stage of a complete journey on the Chemin de Stevenson between Le Puy-en-Velay and Alès. This stage may involve significant changes from the GR®70 signposting, and corresponds to the North-South crossing of the Mont Lozère massif.
