The Moure de la Gardille from Mirandol

Depart from the car park on the banks of the Chassezac, at the foot of the viaduct.

(S/E) From the car park, go up to the D6 road and turn right onto the old Chemin de la Balade towards Airolle. Climb up to the Andos crossroads.

(1) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead and climb up to Plot de l'Airolle.

(2) Follow the path on the left until you reach the junction with the^GR®®7.

(3) Take the path opposite that leads to the summit of Moure de la Gardille, marked by a boundary stone near a cement slab.

(4) At the summit, continue along the path to the cross and enjoy the view of the Mercoire Forest and the Margeride Mountains.

(5) Return to the^GR®®7.

(3) Turn right onto the^GR®®7. Descend to a large right-hand bend where a smaller path branches off straight ahead.

(6) Leave the wide path built for transporting wind turbines on your right and continue straight ahead on the original^GR®®7.

(7) Leave the^GR®®7and continue straight ahead, taking the path that descends steeply. Continue downhill until you reach a carriage road.

(8) Turn left onto this road and continue towards Jazès and Sogne Longue.

(9) Take the path on the left and descend to the Malaval Bridge. Climb back up and continue to the first crossroads.

(10) Take the path on the right and return to Mirandol via Les Mouleyres. Take the old Balade path to the car park (S/E).

Leave your car in Mirandol, on the banks of the Chassezac at the foot of the viaduct.

(S/E) The 30-metre-high Mirandol viaduct spanning the Chassezac river, on the Mende - La Bastide Saint-Laurent-les-Bains railway line.
