Bois de Limeyrac, Cité de l'Espace, La Plaine

Start on Chemin du Château de l'Hers, bus stop L12 Rougenet.

(S) Walk 50 metres along Chemin du Château de l'Hers in the direction of the bus, then turn left onto Rue de l'Iliade and continue to the Castor community gardens

(1) Turn right onto the greenway heading south. Stay on this path.

(2) Cross Route de Castres via a tunnel. Enter Parc de la Grande Plaine on the right.

(3) Continue straight ahead along the paths leading to the roundabout on Rue Firmin Boissin.

(4) Exit and cross over to the uphill Rue Firmin Boissin. Continue to the roundabout.

(5) Turn left up Chemin de Limayrac, then after the right-hand bend, take Chemin de Firmis on the right.

(6) Continue along this road to enter the Bois de Limayrac on the right.

(7) When you enter the Bois de Limayrac park, follow the paths to walk around it. Several cement or dirt paths between the trees will allow you to explore this shaded park without getting lost. Then head back down towards Allée de Limayrac. Follow the double cycle path to the roundabout below Château de l'Hers (which you passed on the way there).

(5) Turn left onto Chemin de Limayrac, which leads to the Château de l'Hers sports complex. At the end, cross Avenue Jean Gonod to re-enter the Grande Plaine park and arrive at the crossroads you passed on the way there.

(3) Continue straight ahead, then turn right and continue straight towards the large sports grounds, following the main paths. Again, you can't get lost here, as there are many leisure activities on offer.

(8) At the end, turn left towards the green corridor; the noise from the motorway will guide you. Turn right and continue south towards Cité de L'Espace. Here again, you will discover another dimension with the space rockets on display.

(9) Pass a row of remarkable preserved mulberry trees on your right. Continue until you reach a roundabout, then turn right immediately.

(E) You will find the L12 La Plaine bus stop 20 metres away.
Return to the starting point via the L12 bus towards Borderouge.

Wear good walking shoes: in wet weather, some paths are steep and not always paved, and there are many flat areas in low-lying areas.
